So if we win the title with five games to go next season you won't be singing "champions...champions" until after the final whistle of the final game?FanchesterCity said:dobobobo said:FanchesterCity said:Actually you're wrong.
Technically the league isn't over until all games are played, and it's possible (albeit remotely) that a club could suffer a points deduction. Of course, it won't happen, but theoretically it could. If Chelsea were to field an ineligible player, they could be deducted points, and in theory that could be three times for three games. They could also lose 10 points by going into administration. So, despite all the media, technically they aren't champions yet.
*BURSTS OUT LAUGHING*
As ever you completely miss the point. He was right, I am right. You've just fallen for the media declaration and assumed it must be correct like most would assume.
Rule C.11. The Club which is at the top of the table at the end of the Season shall be the League Champions.
Taken from the actual rules, and not the media: <a class="postlink" href="http://m.premierleague.com/content/dam/premierleague/site-content/News/publications/handbooks/premier-league-handbook-2014-15.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://m.premierleague.com/content/dam/ ... 014-15.pdf</a>
So, erm, laugh all the fuck you like, he was right.

But I am far from acknowledging we deserve the right to win silverware every season, no matter what money or targets has been set. It's because we play in the PL and it's simply the hardest league to get anything that goes in to a trophy cabinet. Despite mistakes being made ,and we don't need to hide behind that fact, and poor performances in the domestic cupcompetitions ,people on here imo too easily forget it wasn't going for us as well. On different fronts we were hit by UEFA, injuries especially to our core players, often playing other teams when they had hit form, another tough CL-draw in the group phases as well as the first knock-out round, a move to the Etihad Campus (don't underestimate this change), etc. Looking back to every aspect to the game, it just wasn't our season. I take that because I know that the long term planning will get us enough to look foreward to.
Chelsea won it and deserved it. Maybe they were playing some boring football, but than again they also had to do with Costa quite a few games. And both Remy or Drogba are not gonna deliver the same. For the rest Chelsea had it their way, hardly any injuries and an easy CL-draw. And let's be honest, they also played some fine football. It wasn't always boring stuff.
Imo the team do need some refreshments either with 2 or 3 new players, but certainly 1 or 2 players from the academy. I't's these kind of players that gives the more experienced once an extra dimension to their game: they need to perform by exemple and lead by exemple to the young kid in the team. The ones we buy need to be big and I mena BIG players. Obviously if UEFA let us spend and the players we are targetting wanna come.
