We are NOT Man City..

Don't understand this thread. We are Manchester city, city for short or man city as an alternative... What's the problem?!

Think the issue is that we have removed "Football Club" from the badge – and whilst we are Man City I do feel the F.C. is an important part of the badge at least... we took the piss out of the rags for them removing it years ago!

You took the piss did you? That was silly.

Our English teacher Mr Potterton didn't like the Manc glottal stop so used to write "ci'y" and "uni'ed" and once "pe'erborough uni'ed". Cured me! I'm dead posh me now.
Was he the teacher at North Manc by any chance?

Made me smile go to this big fuss of rebranding us as man city then print all the lanyards with the new badge on with Manchester city for the weekend event !

Really? Does anyone care

"Eh! Are you Man U, you?"
"Am ah fook! Ah'm Man Ci'y! Are you Man U, you?" Etc etc
How I miss the intellectual greeting of strangers in Moss Side in the 80's on Derby day ;-)

Isn't 'Notts' used when referring to the county of Nottinghamshire, like Yorks, Lincs?
No wonder they moaned as they're not Nottinghamshire Forest. Man is an obvious abbreviation of Manchester, even our airport is known as 'MAN' internationally.

Ironically enough, it's now fashionable among the "yoof" to call the city of Nottingham "Notts".
