We are NOT Man City..

Dropping the FC from everything was a move the rags did 20 years ago - we laugh at them for it, and now we are defending our own for doing it? Odd double standards.
Context. This is just about identifying the club online and what looks good in an image. Nothing else

I've seen a lot of people say this, but I don't think I've heard anybody in the flesh take the piss out of the rags for this. Lost of other things but not this. Not sure that it matters unless you think this is the first step to us abandoning football and sneakily becoming a cricket club or hockey club!

Also a general point - we are in the next day or so about to reveal what I consider to be a true giant of the game in Pep Guardiola. Let that soak in, digest it, repeat it, and once you've done that, do it again, and then think how important this issue is in the grand scheme of things.

Viva la City. Viva la Pep.

Couldn't care less, people need to think about what it is, a web address and social media tag.

We ain´t got a government, or opposition. We are in a zone of financial uncertainty as a country to boot our national team have been eliminated by a supermarket and terrorists strike somewhere every week.. But there is a problem that on internet the club are using mancity?

I must confess that I use ManCity myself at times, it confuses people if you say City while visiting Bradford, Leicester, Cardiff etc where the local team is also called City.
Going away from MCFC is basically just a way to hammer home our Manchester roots in a way.. But it lacks history using ManCity, I´ll admit that
Do I find it important what we are using for Web addy?.. No, not really

turn it round with fan power, compose lots of terrace songs with 'Manchester City Football Club' in the lyrics

I see what you're saying, I feel that FC needs to be there as that's what we are - despite branching out into Tyres, Betting and Noodle soup partnerships, we're first and foremost a Football Club. My personal opinion is that it should be stated.

Anyway, like you say...forward with Pep. Fucking hell Pep is our boss.

I'm puzzled by the fact that 'man city' is easier and quicker to search for than 'MCFC'

Because a casual fan is more likely to search Man City, than MCFC.

It's very easy to have search terms that aren't a part of your URL or main header, so not sure if that is a reason for the rebranding at all. In fact, even when we still were a football club 'man city' as a search term would return the OS.

Given that most people in the media and other fans refer to us as Man City, it makes complete sense to have mancity.com as our domain name. It's purely a website based decision, not a re-brand.

It's a domain name, not a rebrand. The header still says "Manchester City". Regardless, mancity.com is much more reflective of who we are than 4 letters.

Well it's not just the domain name, but point taken. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but mancity.com is too close to manutd.com, FC has gone. Next stop, compulsory ticket purchases! ;)

Simples. It's the biggest single signing at this club since the takeover. And therefore, arguably, in the history of the club.
