Not read thread but correct me if I'm wrong....

Bayern beat Roma home & away, we beat CSKA home, then it doesn't actually matter what happens in the next game for us and them as bottom line will be that if we beat Roma away we go through? (Even if we lose at home to Bayern and Roma thrash CSKA away...)

Yes.

Weird really, as shit as we've been, 1 win at home to worst team in group and we still have it in our own hands.

Easier said than done but I'd fancy us away at Roma, winner takes all.

I do think today was a one off, can't see CSKA surviving at Etihad. Ofcourses there are always chances in football but the same could be same about Bayern at Etihad. I think we will take it to Rome. Also Roma have to play CSKA away, their 5-1 was a home fixture.

No way am I giving up hope of qualification yet. (Bayern currently smashing Roma helps).

I'm pretty confident we'll beat CSKA in our next game and Bayern will beat Roma to seal qualification.

That leaves Roma with a tricky game against CSKA away (even more so with low confidence if Bayern have stuffed them twice).

If CSKA can do us a huge favour and beat Roma (they'll need to to keep their hopes alive) then our home game against Bayern could well be one huge party.

A win would put us through with a game to spare! Happy days

Plausible that we beat CSKA and Bayern beat Roma in the next set of games.

We'd be on 5, Roma 4.

Roma play in Moscow at 5.00, hopefully in a blizzard and lose.

We then play a Bayern second string knowing a win takes us through.

Qualify with a game to spare.

Half full type of guy myself.

right..we beat moscow..thats us on five
roma lose to bayern ..thats them on four.

lets say we lose to bayern and roma win in moscow.
thats us on five and them on seven...

winner takes all in rome..got it now..i hope moscow do roma on match day five

Don't you mean away?

I personally don't think we are good enough to win there
sorry mate i meant bayern
lets say we win next two.

Roma is the last game and beat Moscow at home and it will pretty much come down to winning in Rome which should be easy judging by how easy Bayern have done it? Shouldn't it........

Well Roma at home should have been easy for us

The simple truth is had we played with one striker against Roma we would have won

It is no coincedence that when we did that with 15 minutes to go they were hanging on

So the question is who's fault was that?

And the fact that the CSKA game kicks off at 5.00pm means we know what the crack is come kick off time.
If Roma win in Russia the Bayern game becomes a free hit.
If they draw, still a free hit.
If they lose, and we win it`s happy days.

I guess the only small positive to come from today's games is that we are one point closer to Roma now.

Really blew two points though and based on the first three games we don't deserve to qualify.

Indeed. The introduction of Lampard was also key to the improvement in the last 15 mins. He understands the need for urgency and the benefit of shooting from outside the area from time to time.

Qualification is based on 6 games though.
