We're so far away from getting anywhere decent or doing anything special in this competition it doesn't even matter if we do go through.
We have the completely wrong attitude across the team and the manager either thinks we're better than we are or is just too naïve or both.

It is getting harder and harder to care about CL. I really wanted to qualify when City weren't in it but now it seems like more of a distraction. Add in that UEFA are making up rules to stifle City while allowing other "established" teams to do whatever the fuck they want and I really don't care. Part of me wants to City stick it to them by winning but in reality there is no way they will allow that to happen. Even if by some miracle City get out of their group they'll be drawn against RM or Barcelona again and have to play against deeper squads who draw penalties every time you get near them in the area.
Maybe next year UEFA will rule that if City sign any players at all they'll have to go without a keeper and that at least 75% of their squad must have come through their youth system.
BTW, I'm not discounting City's disappointing play. I just don't think it would matter if they played well because somebody will see to it that they get screwed.

Used to be the case that a draw away from home in Europe was a good result, but if you have a Bayern in you group, you can't make mistakes
A draw away is fine as long as you win your home games.

There is a scenario where goal difference might count, but no point going there yet. We've got to take care of CSKA Moscow first. After our experience in Europe we can't take anything for granted. That promises to be a good night.

Had we gone in at 3-0 or better tonight, there's always the concrete chance that the ref will find someway to equalise things. We have had some shit refs over four seasons in the CL, and some shite decisions. I would like to see over the four seasons whether the champions of Germany, Netherlands, France, Italy and Spain have had the same shit!
