We can still win the league

Second at best. More likely third. They put too much pressure on City to progress in the Champions League last season. It was like trying to run before we could walk.

You drinking the Koolade?

Only one win since the turn of the year, apparently. The Plymouth replay?

Yep. Poor. A defeat against Swansea at home. Very poor. They weren't great against us to be honest either but we failed to take advantage. Too many games recently and it shows in this performance tonight. Their squad isn't good enough.

He's in absolute no-mans land for the 2nd goal as well. I'll get accused of being an Otamendi basher again but I think if you broke down the goals which have ruined our season he'd be involved (or noticeably missing)in most of them. His second half performance vs. Chelsea could be one of the most influential performances of the last 5 years regarding the title race.

He does good things for 89 minutes in some games but still finds time to cost us points.

I completely agree, he's on it for 90% of the game, making tackles and interceptions and getting us on the front foot. But he's still making poor decisions which are costing us. He needs to learn that he can't win the ball every single time. Alli was always going to get the ball first, Otamendi just needed to stop him turning with the ball and stop him running past him. He should use his experience to stand Alli up and then use his body to obstruct him. Then Walker has no one to play that ball into. At times you could argue our midfield has been missing which forces Otamendi to step up, in this case Yaya was getting back and Otamendi shouldn't have gone all in to win the ball.

Our best defensive performance has been at home to Arsenal where our front players gave them no time on the ball and our defenders mopped up any long balls. We were incredible in that second half, and Arsenal are pretty comfortable on the ball. That was like watching the games we had against Barca in the past or Bayern with Pep - even with 10 men Bayern just kept the ball and we struggled to. The 3-2 win over Bayern had signs of what we're seeing this season with Pep where they made several big errors that cost them the game.

That was a rarity though so I've got faith it will happen less frequently moving forward. We need to take this season for what it is, try and get in the top 3, try and win the FA Cup or CL and if we can improve and find consistency, which Pep sides generally do have, we can still win the league potentially.

Next season we'll see a huge improvement though.

We will have performances like Spurs away, Leicester away, Liverpool away, Everton away, Southampton at home (one of our worst and we didn't lose; much like Everton/Spurs at home were our best and we didn't win) quite regularly between now and next season. We just won't be consistent with the squad we have. There will be an awful lot of players leaving in the Summer and next season will be completely different.

For me its the top 4 this season, clear out if possible in the summer and let Pep get a few of his players in. Even if Chelsea started dropping points, do you honestly think the officials are going to start officiating our games in a fair manor. From now to the season end we will be inconsistent, cant defend, cant score and when we do turn it on we get fucked over by the officials. Hopefully we still have the quality to finish top 4 (i believe 4th now is no qualifying game for the CL) as thats not a given this season with hows it gone so far

Fantastic performance against Spurs showed what we are really capable of. If we can repeat this type of performances over and over again we can still snatch the title. Kompany is back, Dinho will be back against WHU. Chelsea's upcoming three games are Liverpool away, Arsenal at home and Burnley away. They can easily loose to both Liverpool and Arsenal and away at Burnley it is always tough. I can see them getting only 1 point out of 9 possible. Our next 3 games are WHU away, Swansea at home and Bournemouth away. All these games are winnable. If everything works out as planned, we will be on 52 points and Chelsea on 56 points and we will still have to play them. We all know Arsenal and Spurs will bottle it. Never mind Liverpool.
Wishful thinking really. I don't think either event will happen. We might just about get 7 points if our luck changes. But can't see them with anything less than 4. So a 3 point turn around max.
I seem to remember a thread after the Spurs game at home last year saying we could still win it we didn't of course and I very much doubt if we can gather enough points this time even if the Chavs shit themselves.
