Rewind a few seasons to when we lost to arsenal. There was only 8 games left and it all looked doom and gloom. However we all know how that season finished.

Long way to go yet. Keep the faith

We gave up when they scored their second today. Showed a very un-City like, unprofessional "oh well, we're getting fuck all here" attitude. There was 17minutes plus stoppage time to go.

It's easier to fight till the end when you're the best team in the Premier League, but sadly that ship has since sailed. Chelsea bought well in the summer and now we're hoping that they slip up rather than expecting it.

We desperately need Bony to hit the ground running and give everyone a lift. Otherwise we're drifting towards mediocrity, looking lethargic with Yaya and worse without him. The team isn't evolving and our best performers are still the players who've been at the club for four years or more. Virtually every signing since 2012 hasn't improved the team.

I'm all for positive thinking, but not when you concede from a set piece four games running. That's sloppy and dare I suggest that if it continues we need to be looking at our coaching structure because complacency is rearing its ugly head.

We might finish second in the league.

"Drifting towards mediocrity".

Some of your heads have gone, you're total bottle merchants. No wonder there's no atmosphere when we're up against it if this is how you lot think.

You keep your head in the sand mate. Keep pretending that the team is evolving and ignore all those goals conceded from set pieces.

As I said, we desperately need Bony to hit the ground running. If he does then my feelings might change. If he doesn't then we'll end up looking over our shoulder at Arsenal and the rags etc.

I'll comment on what's happening now and not what happened last season (which I believe was the original point of the thread)

Completely agree with you Damocles, find it hard to believe how easy some people give up especially considering our last two title wins.

And complaining about the lack of fight in the team when they've got none themselves.

We have witnessed some classic 'written off' scenarios recently. 2012 with only 6 games left, Liverpool wrapping up the league a couple of weeks before the end of last season, out of the champions league this season........It's not always going to turn out right but I'll wait until June before reflecting on this season. In the meantime I'll carry on supporting and encouraging with the belief that we are going to have more good times than bad over the next few years at least. Maybe we could get behind the team more instead of giving up and sitting back quietly letting it happen. I tried to get the City war-cry going again yesterday but once again it was pointless........We need to at least try to roar the boys on but singing 'Pablo Zabaletta' and 'United ran away' when we're behind isn't going to have much effect I'm afraid
