The only thing worse than panic buying, is panic buying with the faith of a multi-billionaire. If manager went out to sign players just because he can (with the cash behind him Hughes has) without proper thought, planning and negotiation all he'll succeed in doing is build a cross to be crucified with.

Yeah I see what you mean, but I also think that Blackburn will sell for less in the last week of the window. Just because we have lots of money doesn't mean that we should give it ll clubs in a similar position to us! Particularly when on the CL clubs will be able to compete with us to sign players from abroad.

Good point, a couple of short term investments would be great. But don't forget we have a few players to come back from injury, and also some quality youngsters (Youth Cup winners, no less!) I just don't think that we should throw money at Premiership teams just because their owner's businesses are in the mire and they see us as a cash cow. We've got to be firm and they wil buckle in the end. 1 defensive midfielder will be enough for the Jan games, we've already solved one problem position with a top class FB. And then we can do business on our terms in the second half on the window. That seems to make sense to me anyway!

Hats off you got a better business brain than me LOL I think we need a striker and a strong pyhsical mid-fields to see us through jan anyway
