We Haven't Won Anything Yet

We need an atmosphere like against United and Hamberg. Surely we can do that again!!

I haven't celebrated winning last night yet. I left the ground right on full time after a quick clap for the lads. I have waited 38 years for what could potentially happen in 2 weeks but have a real nervousness still. Of course I was delighted to beat those rag cnuts but I just hope all the crowing doesn't leave us with egg on our faces..You just know the rag media are praying for us to fuck this one up...

Not being negative but please someone, make me feel a little more confident.I do believe in fate as the fixtures seem to be similar to 68 but this title is only second to my kids and family...

Perhaps it is the fact I have said I am getting my first tattoo if we win the league and I am more worried about the pain that that involves!!!However, there has been lots of piss taking etc today (which I haven't been involved in) as I could not face thoise cnuts if we did not win this now.

Me too, getting the tatt I've been threatening for the last 5 of my 48 years! It will be worth every wince and whine if we win the league

A mate of mine who supposedly supports the rags, although he doesn't even watch them religiously on the box, never mind go to the fucking game, sent me this txt after the Arsenal match to take the piss:

"Listen if united lose the next 4 games and city win all there (sic) 6 games then city will win the league. Keep your chin up. It's not over yet."

I didn't respond but kept the message. I was tempted after yesterday to re-send it him but thought no, wait till after QPR.

I can't fucking wait to send the **** that text.

Evening lads...I can't start a new topic, but fully understand this thread....
Wednesday had to beat Wycombe on Saturday...should be a doddle...but I have followed this dogs breakfast of a club since the mid 60's and i simply knew that most owt could happen...luckily it didn't...and Wednesday fans had a chance to party...and no Man Utd fan...No Chelsea or Arsenal fan will ever understand what it means to go through such abject crap for years...not a season outta the sunlight, not some fleeting loss of form, but to watch your club plumb the depths of English football, toddle to places you hardly knew existed and look at the away end of your ground peopled by 1 man an' his dog as you lost 1-0 in the bloody rain to a team you never thought you'de play outside of the F.A cup.
So..I just thought i'd pop on here to wish you all the best against QPR...because you lot as fans, fully understand why ive still got a massive grin on me face...you have been through it...stayed loyal to a club that hit the buffers....and believe me you fully deserve whatever glories you get in the coming years...folk who accuse of buying it, have not suffered...when they do..they will realise that they would snatch anyones hand off for the same opportunity...
I hope the blue half of Manchester goes as mental as the Blue half of Sheffield did last Saturday...
All the best lads...youve earned it

Spot on mate. I hope one day you're back in the Prem - the sooner the better. Hillsbrough was always one of my favourite away days. Quick ride on the train and those wooden seats in the stand. Proper stadium. I remember a 1-1 draw with Quinn scoring under Ball and a 6-2 win for us under Keegan when Bernarbia was awesome.

Good luck Wednesday.
Been to Maine rd a couple of times...only once in your new place when you beat us in a cup replay...I preferred Maine Rd to be honest, but I'm a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to football...I like grounds to sort of loom up outta the fog...rather than smack you in the face from a mile away lol...besides..in those days..it was safer in the fog
Nice one mate! I've always thought Wednesday were a good lot. I remember going in your end at Hillsbrough with my Dad when I was about ten. It was last game of the season 1-1 draw. Surrounded by Wednesday fans I jumped up when Beagrie scored and my Dad tried to get me to sit down quick as he was trying to stay unnoticed but everyone around us said "it's okay mate, we quite like City us lot!" On the way out a few blokes shook my Dad's hand and gave me a pat on th back. SheffU got relegated that day too! Also went in 2001-02 when we beat you 6-2 (Benarbia and Goater on fire!) and on the way out all the Wednesday fans were saying "best team in this league hope you do well in the Premiership next season". Never saw any bother in the FA Cup draw a few years ago neither.

You're dead right about clubs like United and Liveprool not having a clue about being in a dark place as in not knowing whether you'll be playing at Saltergate or Sincil Bank, or even if you'll be in business next season. All the while sticking by your club wherever it may be. Proper football, if you like.

I'm glad I went through all that. It's made me a better football fan and it's made me appreciate exactly what we've got now. Come Sunday IF we end up winning the title it will mean more to me than the 19 the Rags have won put together. Hopefully we can do it!

Good luck in the Championship this season. You've got a good manager (he's the Grandad of my mates step son!) and an owner who will make you a better club. I'd like another FA Cup tie at your place next season (I always want the big clubs in divisions below: Wednesday, Forest, Leeds...).

Gives you a proper grounding mate, going through the dreary days...thats why most of you lot are feeling exactly like I was Last week...You just KNOW owt that can go wrong will go wrong"...and its that mindset that kills you...I rarely get emotional when Wednesday screw up, I get bloody angry, but that odd day in the sunshine after every light at the end of the tunnel is a train....it makes your eyes fill up and your lip wobble and you feel like a silly old tw**...its not the despair that does you..its the hope...
I ignored all the congratulations before Saturday...I was nodding a Magpies, crossing me fingers..lookin' for Owls...I was half mental...I did not even enjoy the atmosphere til the clock hit 88 minutes...Every neutral is sure you will do it...I'd put me house on it...but I know you lads feel different...The best of luck to you...youve all earned it...
