I know a lot of people have said we have left the Eto deal with our heads held high, but the fact is, we have tried to sign him, and havn't pulled it off. The same goes for Kaka. People will thus be looking at us, and thinking we go for these players, but are yet to get one. Don't get me wrong, I am over the moon with our confidence and ambition in even chasing Kaka, Eto and Terry. Its amazing. I just believe now, after two failed attempts, we really need to bag one; for our image, statement, and maybe even to keep a player like Robinho who wants to be joined by other top players.
Don't get me wrong, I rate Tevez highly, but for me he isn't a big name, like the 3 I just mentioned. Would be a great signing, but wouldn't shock the football world like Eto may have done, or Terry may do. Maybe this is down to the fact that United let him go, or 2 years ago he was playing for West Ham....I don't know.
This is just my opinion though, but after such ambition, I hope we don't now turn to a target who is nowehere near Eto's standard, as for me, he was always going to be the best signing out of the 3 we were after.

agree with some of this but tevez would be a big deal! crossing the divide and all that, and united didn't let him go he chose to leave them, remember that!

Terry and Tevez next week would be the perfect response. Can't see Terry coming though :(

I agree, the fact of the matter is we have not managed to get any of our top european targets. I don't include Robbie as that deal was rushed through due to him falling out with Madrid bosses.

It is a little annoying but part of me thinks we need to walk before we run and therefore Barry. RSC etc are a vast improvement to our squad.

Would be nice to see a big, big name though to make a statement.

Tevez not big name ?What are you smoking ?

I didnt mean he isnt a big name, just not as big as Eto, Kaka or Terry. They are the step up from Tevez. I don't know why I think this, I just do.

would be funny to piss chelski off big time by submitting a joint bid of 70-80 mill for terry , anelka and drogba
