We really do have the best fans in the world.

No I wasn’t, but that’s all I could hear, plenty of others commented on it as well, some were at the game. If it was down to the broadcaster’s set up then great, I retract what i said about the other night, but I’ve also seen the same thing in Cup finals at Wembley, when a large number of fans don’t want to know.

Fair play to every Blue who forked out their hard earned cash, and jumped through every hoop and obstacle to get there though. My comment is an observation on atmosphere, nothing else.
I was there. You are 100 percent wrong.

Yes, the young ones do often inject a lot of life into it but I’m 51 and I’ve started more chants than many fans half my age so it’s not an exact science. Also seen plenty of our fans - both young and old - bang up for it on the concourse at away games but then mysteriously lose their ability to sing once the game kicks off, then suddenly regain it again on the concourse at half time.
Its down to drink. City fans are spent by the time the game kicks off. Good atmosphere last Sunday due to no drink readily available.

After catching up on the forum these last few hours I’m afraid to say that, no. We don’t have the best fans in the world.
We have an assortment of reactionary, entitled, angry blokes (and ladies) who need to take a step back before logging onto the internet.
Those I encountered by and large in Porto were brilliant before and after the game.
What I’ve read on here since is enough to make a grown man weep.
I’m sure we will all have plenty to cheer about next season like we have for large parts of the last decade but it’s in defeat you see the true mettle of a fanbase and as far as Bluemoon goes it’s not been great.
Gutted to lose, proud to be blue.

Son in law was their 27 his cousin 23 if you wanted it enough you got in PS I out sung the pair of em:-)
Good for them, and good for you mate, hope you all enjoyed your day.

I’m not really talking about the final as such. I could have been there if I wanted, but I couldn’t really justify the two grand.

I’m talking about away games in general, lads in their teens and early 20s don’t get the same chances to go as we did because Dad’s Army still want their dicks sucking because they went to Barnsley away in 1998.

We were constantly trying to get things going in the second half, as were others, I don't like criticising our support but most didn't want to know. The team wasn't the only thing that didn't perform on Saturday unfortunately.
There've been a good four or five semis and finals now where it’s been like that, and I usually stand behind the goal at Wembley so not like we’re in the posh seats.

Start a chant and people turn around and look at you as if you’re annoying them. Loads just stand there almost in silence for entire games.

Thunk back to 2011 semi and final, and it’s like a completely different fan base.

Ageism is illegal for a start. You don't even want young fans at the game, it is young male fans, and not ones with families who are "just as bad".

You can't decide who get tickets on age, gender and family composition.
I think you’re getting confused mate.
He doesn’t want young kids going with their parents and building up a love and rapport with City.
He wants people to turn 18, think “ I know , I’ll go to City and sing dead loud “ and be part of the crowd until they become a FOC , then stop going again .

Most blues were rags or Stockport fans until about 2012 fact. Add those to the recent addition of yanks that believe anything on the Internet and folk like me that are just general cunts and it's a pretty depressing picture.
Definitely not true. The huge core of blues before then had always been City

We were they Friday until Monday it didn't cost the 3 of us 2 grand with spending money,if you do away games always plenty of young lads alas covering yourself in beer on the concourse doesn't add up to creating on the terrace.
