It feels better singing it than "we're shit and we know we are". It's the antithesis of the self-loathing we have become accustomed to. Is it arrogant? Sounds it. Do we mean it? No.
We all know we don't score when we want. We know that its a piss-take of our six-fingered inbred counterparts from down the road just outside Manchester.

I think the "easy" chant is cringeworthy and twattish to say the least but we'll score when we want is a direct fuck off to our smaller not as good neighbors.

That's not really the same thing is it? Like so many other things, if you don't like it don't do it.

Yesterday it was by far the loudest chant going around the stadium, sounded brilliant and must give the players a lift when the noise gets to that kind of level.
We have all kinds of crap chants aimed at us and just take it.

I beseech the club to rectify the matter. For the next home game, the tannoy announcer must give each song a 15 second introduction - a background to the song - for the benefit of those who, quite simply, do not understand.

perhaps we should face in the direction of the swamp when we sing it so that everyone understands who it is aimed at ;-)

I like it. We shouldn't be scared to wind other clubs up, they certainly won't stop trying to wind us up. And if it occasionally backfires on us, who cares? Thats football.

I imagine in a few years time if we carry on improving people are going to be calling for "best team in the land and all the world" to be stopped.
