we STILL deserted the ground with 5 mins to go!

I left early yesterday, and it's none of anyones business whether I had a good reason to do so or not.

funny that
when I get home the babysitter normally relieves me !

Mind you she is a little beltrer and only if the wife ain't back !

I leave early if City are winning. If I don,t then its your fault if we lose. I don,t watch corners from the other team. I don't watch if we get a penalty. Tried it once with a Robbie Fowler Pen. So my leaving early does more for the team than any of you "Look at me ,I stayed till the end. " Supporters. I should get a medal.

Sometimes people have babysitters to go home and relieve, or family to get to espeically on sunday, or elderly and dont want to be caught in queues and 1 hour waiting to leave parking or any other number of circumstances.

If you paid for your ticket, stay as long as you want, and let others do the same.

why do you think people leave early??

the traffic coming away from the ground can be appalling depending on where you park, so leaving with 2/3/4/5+ mins to go can make all the difference

it also helps when the game is won/lost as you know you wont miss anything important

i dont leave early but understand why others do, its not exactly a huge issue and its not like we're the only whose fans leave any game early
It is a big issue. How can fans have the cheek to ask Toure to get the players to go over to the fans after a game and acknowledge their support when we can't even stay behind ourselves? It's one thing when you're getting beat, another when you've won 5-1. Most of these day-trippers will have missed the last goal.

I don't remember it being that bad. Me and my mates were saying 'how the fuck can you leave early and not clap them off after that?' but I think there were a good amount that stayed

Lets dedicate a stand for those who want to go early! and the last one who's left there gets a £100 voucher for the city store!

I never leave early unless we've performed without any fight or passion, I take the view that if they cant be arsed then neither can I. Ive only done that once this season though, against Everton.

Normal games I dart off as the final whistle blows, but after a performance like yesterday, I think every fan should stay to clap the team off and show some appreciation. FFS, its only 30 seconds we're talking about.

If it means you get home even 10 minutes later, is it really that big a deal? I live near Leeds and had a longer drive than most I would expect, but I still stayed to clap them off, we played very well.

This ^^^ not to mention the police dont help matters by closing the road in both directions to let the fans cross the road even before the final whistle has gone, if you get caught in that it's an extra 30mins wait. It's a mare around the ground so like the above says leaving 2mins early can make all the difference. Once the tram is there though I'll take that and wont need to leave a little earlier. But as I have said before, I pay for my ticket so it doesnt effect anyone else other than me, unless you want to pay for my season ticket?

The police closed the road at the gasometer when there was only a "trickle" of people yesterday, it was a good 5-10 minutes before they had to do it, its a joke frankly, a couple of bridges would do the trick (the other being on Joe Mercer Way).

For those complaining about people leaving early.....first of all its none of your business and secondly grow up.

Interesting that a few posters consider that the 'overpaid tossers' shouldn't need to be applauded at the end of a game or that seemingly once you've paid your money that is the end of your commitment.
How about supporting the team and appreciating their efforts, rather than 'I've paid my money entertain me, oh and if you do entertain me well, don't expect any thanks because your paid to do it'.
There were probably less City fans in the our stadium after a 5-1 win that Burnley fans at Turf Moor after a 6-1 defeat!

those who leave early are probably lazy bastards who park on the club car parks and want to get out before the police block the road off for 15 mins?

why not park a bit further away and walk to the ground - free (saving you £100+ a year ) , good exercise and you'll get home quicker and be able to stay to the end!!

I stayed to the final whistle yesterday , clapped the players off and was home (in Bury) at 6.30 pm

I park on a side road (free) between Vermillion and the Kippax pub - 10-15 min walk from the ground - straight in and straight out every week - laughing at the knobs sat in their cars pipping their horns!!

quality arguments there mate.

I just do not get the concept of this half-arsed supporting. I mean, if you don't want to applaud your team when they thump a side that, at one point, was above us in the league, then how do you support the team?

humming bluemoon once before the start of the game and standing up for the goals isn't quite enough, I think. You ask for passion on the pitch, I ask for passion in the stands.

I cheer them all through the game, I hate traffic so I leave 3 minutes early. I'm sure they don't give a crap if I don't stay and clap them off

Why dont the club keep exits closed until the final whistle as blown then everyone would stay like we do at away games.

I know they cant before you all bounce back tstating this!!!!

but I never remember Maine Road emptying so early, it used to take me ages to get away from Maine road but would never leave early.
