Everton and Villa will be lucky to make the top 15.

Probably a bit over the top, Toure may recapture his form of a few years ago and while I don't think Lescott will ever be a top defender he would improve the squad right now. But neither are in the class of a Terry or a Torres.
All i am saying is what was said earlier with the whole 'we give them money and they find a better or equally good replacement' debate. We should do what is right for us and sign players beneficial to us and not worry who arsenal or anybody replace them with. If anything we are not mugs in the transfer market so we will buy at the price we feel the player is worth and nothing more.
Like I've said a few times, I have no problem with us buying players from other premier league clubs. But we are being mugs in the transfer market if we pay for players significantly more than what they're worth, and give our rivals a huge helping hand in the process.

the issue city have is the players at the top top end of the market are not interest in city at the moment eg terry, torres, puyol. We need to buy the players the next level down this is where the likes of lescott and Toure are at. The prices we are going to are always going to be over the market value as we have the title of 'richest team in the world' which will mean teams will try to exploit us.moomba said:Paulmcfc2703 said:to call Toure and Lescott mediocre is a bit ridiculous.

Nothing wrong with buying unproven players.
The best players in the league were all unproven once.
Just need to move out of our comfort zone maybe.
