What a game, eh? It was the perfect opportunity for Roy to try out various options and players, yet nothing really happened. The Liverpool contingent were awful (including Gerrard), and every time the camera panned to the bench it looked like Gary Neville was calling the shots (not that I have an issue with that).
I used to go to most England games but I stopped after the last World Cup. I hoped after Roy took over things would change, but no: same old players who fail to turn up. It doesn't help that half his squad is shite anyway. What has Carroll done tonight except missed a sitter? Didn't Grant Holt score like 10 more goals than Carroll this season? Why's he not there? Where's Crouch? I thought the squad was selected on merit? Oh... wait, Micah.
I'll always support England, but I do find it hard with people like Terry in the squad, and a host of players who barely cut it in the Premiership let alone in the national team.
