Weird Blackburn rumour?

is it only me who feels sorry for kean?

I dunno, I'm wary of the fella. He seems too calm in the face of whats going on, and that makes me cautious of him. Kean seems a bit delusional, only recently he was talking about Blackburn being in the top 10, maybe you should think about getting out of the relegation zone first... The way he keeps coming out with things like he isn't worried about being sacked, the team going down, etc, it seems like he's insulting the fans intelligence. Either he's actually a very brave, dignified man, or one of the best actors when the camera is on, that I've ever seen.

As much as that rumour is cool, I think the reality is Venky's are poor owners, and he's just a poor manager, who can't believe his luck at getting the top job, and refuses to back down.

I don't see him as some kind of criminal mastermind to be honest. He can't plot his way out of the bottom 3.

i read almost the same a few months i think it was on hear. the bit about kean and the glasgow gansters but it did say the agent was well dodgy and the de facto owner of the club. still dont see why they got rid fat sam though he's well up for the dodgy stuff even the whistle blower agent named him phil brown and harry as being on the take last night

He would have been sacked ages ago had things been legit he is always so calm.

-- Thu Dec 22, 2011 12:43 am --

Jesus anymore bent?

That sounds a little extreme but I've heard stuff about Blackburn that makes it at least partly believable. Football clubs have been used as fronts for money laundering for a while, mainly in the lower leagues but Pompey were certainly the most high-profile.

I think I said it on here a few weeks ago that player deals are an easy way to launder money, with dirty money buying players and being turned into clean money via sales. I'm not at all sure that this wasn't the aim of Thaksin's purchase of us.

The thing that doesn't make sense about this story to me is that, if Kean really is fronting for a group of real-life mafiosos, why has he not using those connections to bribe, blackmail and basically thug his way into winning more often? Why would you not get the gangsters to fix your matches for you? Heck, they could make a killing on betting scams into the bargain.

Actually, I'm being pedantic. The entire conspiracy theory is incredibly far-fetched. Fun, but far-fetched.

The ML thing is interesting, and plausible. It wasn't so long ago that our former owner was accused of all sorts. Was he going to use us to launder funds? We'll never know I guess as he was only here a short while.

However you only have to see Pompeys 2-3 cases and who bought them. Football clubs are a good vehicle to use for ML, due to high volumes of transactions.

No smoke without fire IMHO.

Kudos to him for not packing it in already. 90% of others (Myself obviously included) would have walked away by now, although I'm not sure this is technically a positive aspect, given Rovers position in the league.
