Welcome Abdukodir Khusanov

Course I want him to succeed he’s a blue. But this is the kind of transfer I’ll never understand.
He’s 20 played a handful of games in the french league doesn’t speak English, doesn’t know the pep systems and will probably take time to assimilate.
In the mean time we will probably sell a kid who has been brought up to play the city way for the entirety of his life and is itching to burst through (a la Harwood Belis)
Most of these players end up like Angelino and it’s probably the way Nunes will go.
Seriously I hope this post ages badly and the kid does well, but I will never understand this kind of transfer. It’s a gamble that we probably don’t need to take. And I’m a miserable bugger.
This is the sort of transfer Brighton would do, and we would then proceed to pay a fortune for a lad like this. One of the best young defenders in the world. Sure, he doesn't have much experience, but if he did, we would need to pay the Gvardiol price for him.

I’m not having that hair - we’ve all played with Lego so were not fooled baldy!

Welcome to god’s football club

Fantastic news.

Excited about this transfer. Shows our scouting team are working not just on obvious targets. Somebody like Marmoush is obvious because of the season he’s having but this and the Reis deal are exciting because there’s obviously talent there and there’s maximum potential too.

He seems rapid, comfortable technically, a unit and commanding in everything he does. What’s not to love?!

Can’t wait to see him in action!

Out of nowhere...

At least we should be able to have an actual defender on the bench for Chelsea now.

I love these kind of under-the-radar signings. Though I would love to integrate more people from the academy, sometimes outstanding talents emerge and you have to take the chance. I love his directness and self-assuredness. Good luck to him.

It’s 3m more than United paid for Ferdinand…

… 22 years ago. And United fans dare to say they didn’t outspend anyone in that period. Cherry picking rivals best players for record fees - it (was) the United way.
Funnily enough, last week I was chatting with one of my swimming pals, who follows The Red Filth on tv, about City's then mooted transfer activity and what it all meant for FFP/PL charges etc.

We got on to world record fees paid by our respective clubs over time and I pointed out how The Red Filth are streets ahead of us in terms of breaking such records.

I mentioned that Ferdinand's transfer would be worth the thick end of £62M according to the Bank of England's inflation calculator. Which drew the response that 'it's not so bad compared to what other clubs pay nowadays is it?'

I paused a moment, then explained that Bank of England inflation is only part of the story.. that 'football transfer inflation' played its part too, with the past two to three decades of transfer activity in the Premier League adding to wider economic inflation. None of us can begin to put a number on this but it's been there for sure.. and if a player like Ferdinand we're to become available nowadays, one could quite fairly add a further £30M to that 'original' £62M.

'Oh.. well, yeah..' came the response. They really don't have a clue, do they?!

Anyway, welcome Abdukodir!

Do we have an accurate fee or do I just have to believe we signed a ready made superstar an unachievable signing to every other club with the backing of an oil state?

That cock Darvesh on Sly couldn’t wait to say he cost less than £100k, in the first sentence. Surely what’s more relevant is how good he is now rather than what he cost 18 months ago when he was 18?
