Lens are almost, in a manner of speaking, my local team. Wish I'd paid more attention to them, now. Big local rivalry between them and Lille. Lille would be much easier for me to get to by public transport. Must get along there some time. Generalising a bit, Lens are seen as very much the no-nonsense, nuts and bolts working class club, Lille as the more bourgeois “big smoke” club. So Lens should have been a good grounding for Khusanov. Chelsea got Eden Hazard from Lille, incidentally, although it wasn't his first club.

We need a CD as ours are too often injured. Stones and Ake are that often injured one can’t rely on them. Being fit is simply one of the requirements a top sporter needs.

As for Khusanov, I didn’t know him. Video’s show he’s quick and strong, yet makes loads of sliding tackles that sometimes seems a bit rash. Let’s hope he doesn’t get booked too often as unfortunately diving has become a habit in the PL.
