Don't try to be clever and/or sarcastic. You know perfectly well what I'm getting at. Did this problem not show up at the medical? Did we choose to overlook it and still pay top dollar for the lad?
To answer your questions, yes.

Pep actually said in his interview, and maybe I'm wrong, but he literally said that his muscular problem was ongoing for 10 months. Now one thing is absolutely clear, under Pep we take muscular injuries quite seriously as they are the ones that take time to heal and also affecting the players and their health and growth etc. That's why we aren't taking any risks with his recovery, and it's better to wait until he is seemed to be fully recovered and maybe those muscular issues aren't reoccuring at all anytime soon.

Settling in well haha

Now that is funny:)

No player is ever 100% fit, that's not what the medical is for. It's to gauge levels of injury for seriousness and to check for any more major underlying faults that could come up later in a players career

or did we fully assess it and see it as an innocuous injury

I would hope that's the case.

so do I!! footy clubs aren't exactly renowned for their lack of mistakes, but i think he was carrying the knock before we signed him so it's surely been picked up and passed off as a simple knock. he says.

Asked about this the other day and got this response on twitter, maybe the guy is off here.

  • a medical is to identify permanent problems/weak spots that would challenge your ability to perform as a professional footballer.
  • broken bones/pulled muscles can be overlooked as long as they are not a result of a more serious issue

He got injured playing against England. Can you imagine the melt down on here waiting to sign him when
he was fully fit?
