I'm sure I'm not the only one who loves it when the keeper gets sent off, all the subs have been made so one of the outfield players gets thrown a pair of gloves but sadly it doesn't really happen anymore what with all the subs that are allowed.

Didn't Niall Quinn save a penalty v Liverpool in such circumstances back in the 90s?

Scored against Derby then went in net and saved a penalty.

He may not be as good as Ederson with his feet (probably nobody is!) but he’s sure as fuck a better shot stopper and penalty saver. Probably one of the best in the world at these.
Surely they are the primary duties of a goalkeeper!
 
Great signing! I can’t wait to see him in action. He’s a world-class keeper who will bring some much-needed calmness to the back four.

Why were we so obsessed with ederson being comfortable in controlling a ball with his feet. For me Edersons bravery (particularly pre wolves incident) was his greatest asset. Plus his 100% commitment. He was always a poor shot stopper which over the last few seasons has really cost us. Best for everyone this move..well done Eddie ty for your amazing commitment to the club

I’m gonna miss playing with fly keeper! I loved Eddie, but Jesus, he’d give me heart palpitations every time he’d come legging it out or start doing bàck heels n shit!

I think we’ve got ourselves a proper keeper now who can save a few and commands his area (hopefully!)

I can hear keepers everywhere gnashing their teeth at you belittling their trade like this :-)

When I was a kid, the 'goalies' were always the ones who loved the game, but just couldn't play it.

These days it's recognised for the special skillset that it is, and there are lads/lasses growing up wanting to be a keeper from the word go. The money's there too, now, of course.

But if Nunes wanted to try and become a keeper, I'd be all for it...

It’s a special trade being a keeper, one game you seem to get a glove on everything. Next game you try and anticipate and everything ends up in the back of the net, and that’s just me in net for 10 minutes playing six a side. Kudos to anyone who can do it professionally.
 
So many people who sit round me have been begging for a keeper who can save shots so there's gonna be some happy people at The Etihad this season, right?
 
I think that he's the only keeper out there with a big enough personality to come in and make it his, straight away.

Poor old Trafford must feel that his life has turned upside down over the past few weeks

As long as he doesn't invest his wages with a financial version of Selwyn Froggitt he'll be reet ;-)

Whoever came in though wouldn't be as good with their feet. Anybody would be a downgrade. We have massively upgraded from an actual goalkeeper point of view though. We had Eddie last year who made continuous mistakes, let in easy goals and his amazing ball playing skill didn't stop a bad season from us.

We won't have anyone as good as Eddie with the ball at their feet, he couldn't last forever.
