Also, he's a signing whose game is unlikely to be drastically affected by City's playing style, so what we've seen should be what we get.

Maybe theyd need to speak english because theyre in england?
I am trying to understand. So English players need to speak Chinese when they play for a Chinese club or Arabic when they play for an Arabic club or French when they play for a French club or Spanish when they play for a Spanish club or Italian when they play for an Italian club? Or perhaps they are forgiven because English is the mother of all languages?

That is just BS from Otamendi and/or PR at the Club to get some media attention, and improve the image of the Club among the English mass. Importantly, I will be shocked if good old Nicolas could spoke any decent English after he played for us. Please see below links to some of Otamendi’s interviews including his final one with City just before he left, he spoke in Spanish and the interviewer spoke to him in Spanish. I thought after “demanding” English teaching by Guardiola, Otamendi would be fluent and at the least gives his final interview in English. Also, note that the interview could have been prepared in advance to make it easier on him to speak in English. But that even didn’t happen because he couldn’t speak in English even if the interview was prepared ahead of time.

But let us assume that was true, I very doubt Guardiola would demand that now. And if he does, then instead of demanding time and efforts on the players to learn English, which is really not needed as we all know many players are not English, I would love for the master of all masters to “demand” enough efforts to teach his game plans and make it clearer and simpler to the current players who don’t have the same IQ as the previous 2 generations of players. I really love Guardiola (best coach I have seen in more than 55 years watching football), but to me our new crop of players look lost as they seem to be struggling to understand his overly complicated methods. That is way more important than ‘demanding” learning English, which as I said I doubt it ever seriously happened. Guardiola is smarter than demanding teaching any language on his players. And I wonder if he also “demanded” teaching Spanish and German to foreign players when he coached in Spain and Germany. I did my quick search and couldn’t find any evidence to support that. So, why on earth he does that in England. Doesn’t make any sense, at least to me.

Now let us focus on our new Italian recruit. At least we know he can speak English.

Quiet Saturday night for you then?

So, what are we calling this guy? Are we going with Donni? Can't keep writing his name in full as it's too much hassle.

Having not watched him consistently for any side I’m really unsure what to expect when we watch him week in week out. A big figure that’s for sure but seemingly not a dominator of his area. His ball playing skills is a concern unless we’re looking at modifying how we play out from the back.Looks a better shot stopper than Ederson, certainly during his last season or so with us.

I can’t claimed to have watched him and happy to trust the club and Pep who will have. I suspect that while he may be a better shot stopper than Ederson, who is better than the narrative tells us, his howler reel would be a fair bit longer than Edersons. Hopefully that was down to age and he can eliminate that from his game, though a few seem to be from last season as far as I can see.
Can’t really get my head around it but nows the time to support and wait and see.

Yes it’s one where time will tell, Guardiola must’ve been happy to bring him in, confused the situation with Trafford aswell. However, I do wonder how much this is a Pep signing or more for beyond the Pep years, as painful as that is to think about! Or simply Pep transitioning the side into a new style.
