"My mates and I want to believe there is a release clause in his contract. None of us know though, so we've agreed to go with it being over £150m as that sounds plausible"
I genuinely read this without knowing if you’re being sarcastic or not. You can’t possibly be this naive with believing and buying every media narrative. Must be sarcasmGutted about the release clause.
Feels like we’re a stepping stone.
What’s most annoying is it kicks in after 2 years! He did 2 1/2 years at Dortmund. Was hoping for at least 3.
League season finishes tomorrow so it's a possibility but not if it detracts from what we need to do. If we win tomorrow and wall pushers drop points so league is over then I don't have a problem but if it's on a knife edge you could argue it will galvanise the crowd and the players but it may also be the distraction we don't need.Rumours he will be present at stadium v Villa.
Couldn't agree more we seem to have a reputation for happy players and those who aren't can leave if they want to (see ferran torres) better all round if both club and player are happy...Will end up copy pasting this several times but a clause this high suits us.
If Erling does for some unbeknownst reason want to leave, a clause ensures the buying club will be paying through the fucking nose for him rather than eeking out an £80m deal because we don’t take hostages.
There’s a line to draw between bad release clauses (£51m for BVB) to good release clauses (£150m+ for us). This is a good release clause - and it still relies on him actually wanting to go. If he’s smashing it here, if Pep extends, if he catches the City bug other stars have caught, then it’s not a problem.
