He has not even played 1 game for City and in Spain they are already saying that Madrid will pay Haaland's 150 million clause in 2024 because by then Benzema will have to be replaced.

Anyway, I would like to know your opinion about Haaland putting a release clause, it is something rare and even more so in England.
In my opinion it doesn't seem to be a sign of commitment to the project, to be honest.

On the other hand, in the strictest sense of the value of the movement it is positive.
City will have the biggest prospect in the world for 2 years and if he leaves after those 2 years the signing will be amortized and they will make a profit on the transfer (if the figures that have come out are what they are, which I doubt).

Ignore Madrid biased source. Also Pèrez will be going for Mbappe again. I've been told by someone that knows alot about Madrid. Also striker wise they want Endrick

I don’t think there’s many clubs that he hold on to their best players for so long like City do, mirrored by Pep’s stay at City being his longest stint anywhere.
“If you build it, they will come” ( & hopefully stay a long time!)
The whole holistic approach to running the club, from ground up shows, the respect to the legends of the club being brought onboard, the latest home kit, The excellent media team producing the interviews & Inside City content.the latest Haaland father & son piece is a perfect example, why let the likes of Sky do their sometimes biased pieces, when you can drive the narrative from within?
Yes City have £, but they use it very wisely.
The signing of Haaland has all the makings of a golden ticket, it silences the “no history” crowd it fills the large Aguero shaped hole, & shows City’s clear intentions of finally capturing the CL with hopefully another evolution in Pep’s game plan.
As someone once said I’m “Buzzin’” for next season

If Real Madrid couldn't even sign a Madridista like Kylian fecking Mbappe as a free agent, then I doubt why a lifelong Man City fan like Haaland would even join Real Madrid if he become a massive success in his favorite club.

Remember how Real Madrid fans used to tell themselves that Aguero would join their club, using Man City as a stepping stone? Well, Aguero spent almost 10 years with Man City despite absolute zero connections to the club whatsoever unlike Haaland.

Since Marca/AS knows that Kylian Mbappe won't be available until 2025 & is disliked by RM fans, they are settling for Haaland to give RM fans copium.

There are better ways to force the club to renegotiate the contract every year without putting a buy out clause.
In Barcelona we know this very well unfortunately
The only thing I hope is that he doesn't go to Madrid and City may have made a mistake with that buy out clause.

There were many doubts about Haaland's physical condition these last 2 years, last season Erling missed 16 games.
That is why Erling demanded his club not to publish any more updates on his injuries, so that it would not be an obstacle in his future contract.
City may be taking all the risk of the deal so that in 2 years Madrid can take him more mature and ready for an elite team.
And if he eventually has serious physical problems Haaland will hold on to his contract.
fuck off, nobody cares what a barca fan has to say

Firstly, I think it's really poor the way some people on the forum react to any read that they don't like by just telling fans of other teams to do one.

Secondly, as others have pointed out in between the vitriol, there are too many assumptions in the story you are telling yourself: the release clause (if it exists), the value of the release clause, the agency fees, Madrid's plan, Haaland's injury record, Haaland trying to somehow cover up that he has chronic injuries. All of these are assumptions.

There are many people in football who don't like that City has become an elite club but they are going to have to accept the reality. Manchester City have signed the best striker in the world and *nobody* knows if he will be here for 2, 5 or 10 years.
