Heading for Watford so.

Heading for Watford so.
Don't trust a word Vickery says.
"South American expert" is only such as an English speaker who watches SA football occasionally.
He said Marlos Moreno would be better than Gabby Jesus.
Sir Elton will be delighted to reunite with Kayky. Is he restless?
Apoligies if someone has already mentioned..
but he previously played centre midfield, which you can see in the clips above.
Tim Vickery's comments to talksport in Jan/Feb :“Kayky is billed as a left-footed Neymar but he’s actually a central midfielder,”

Could naturally mature into one of the two eights in a few years as he gets settled into European football.
Not unusual for talented Brazilian players to transition into a more defensive position in Europe, Fred at the Rags was an attacking midfielder at Internacional and plenty of wingers have ended up as wingbacks.
I wasn't being sarky. It's just there are so many "wonderkids" who never make it and they all have videos. One of the best youngsters I ever saw in City's youth teams was Daniel Sturridge and at 17 he looked fantastic. He had an excellent career but was never a world-beater. David White was incredible at 17 as well. Of course Phil Foden really looks the real deal...he may be our best ever but still a long way to go.I only shared video to show appearances of him popping up in midfield.
He is only 17 and has only just started to feature for the senior team in the league, I think some of those clips will be from the state championships (equivalent of City putting out their kids and reserves in the Papa John's cup).
We are buying him based on his overall technical quality and potential and performances in the Copa Libertadores.
"He has played in central midfield" and "He is actually a central midfielder" are 2 very different things.Did he say actually say that?
It’s true that Moreno had achieved more in South American football prior to his move as he was the star at his team and they went on to win a trophy.
He is a freelance journalist not a football scout and even well regarded professional scouts have made mistakes about players overlooking too small etc only for them to go on and establish themselves at the top level.
Vickery has lived there for many years, speaks fluent Portuguese and I have seen him appear on Brazilian TV as a pundit. He also writes for World Soccer, contributes to the BBC World football radio show and has a podcast. He isn't only a football journalist though, I have seen him on France 24's English language coverage reporting on covid and politics.
Saying someone has played in central midfield which is mostly factual isn't the same as making a prediction on who is the better player.
He’ll need to be absolutely exceptional to play in centre midfield at that size. Makes Dave and Phil look like Yaya
I thought Metinho deal had fallen through?5'9" in height, but he has got time to fill out and get his core strength. Bernardo was playing reserve football at Benfica until 20.
Don’t see him turning out in centre midfield for a few years at least.
But of a speculative signing by the looks of it, judging by the price paid.
Interestingly the other player we got Metinho, an 18yr old defensive midfielder has no Brazilian heritage and is African born.
based on?I thought Metinho deal had fallen through?
"He has played in central midfield" and "He is actually a central midfielder" are 2 very different things.
Not as objectively factual as you are making out.
Gabriel Jesus was the main man in a League title win. Moreno was a "super" sub / rotation option in a league and cup win. Not comparable.
BTW only one country in South America actually speaks Portuguese.
and yes he did say that...
He called him “the standout revelation of South American football”, "Sensational" and suggested the difference in fees between Moreno and Jesus was down to a "Brazilian premium".
He's a tweet to similar effect:
