Nothing more really than the club making a point of announcing Kayky’s signing but not that of Metinho.based on?

He couldn’t if he tried!I've just heard his surname is Dee?
I hope he doesn't end up breaking our heart.
"He has played in central midfield" and "He is actually a central midfielder" are 2 very different things.
Not as objectively factual as you are making out.
Gabriel Jesus was the main man in a League title win. Moreno was a "super" sub / rotation option in a league and cup win. Not comparable.
BTW only one country in South America actually speaks Portuguese.
and yes he did say that...
He called him “the standout revelation of South American football”, "Sensational" and suggested the difference in fees between Moreno and Jesus was down to a "Brazilian premium".
He's a tweet to similar effect:
Copied this:Nothing more really than the club making a point of announcing Kayky’s signing but not that of Metinho.
Copied this:
City Football Group will pay a fee of €5 million plus add-ons to the Brazilian club, where Metinho will remain until 2022.
Fluminense are also expected to retain a certain percentage of any future sale of the young midfielder. Recent reports from Brazilian outlet UOL have also suggested that upon leaving Fluminense, Metinho will join City Football Group club ES Troyes AC, in the French second division.
Fair enough. I am sure he is a decent enough journalist.Yes I know that, not sure why you felt the need to point that out. He also speaks Spanish.
I read the statement that he is actually a central midfielder as indicating that he had spoken to a contact at the club or within the professional game. Not that he watched the TV himself and decided "this player is more of a midfielder"
Brazilian club football is the richest league, and the biggest Brazilian clubs are much richer than Columbian clubs. There undoubtedly would be a premium attached anyway.
I don't see it as particularly important that he might have made a brain fart about who was the best youth player. Lots of youth players fail to fulfil their potential, making a prediction about who will be better is a difficult thing to do.
As I said, he isn't a scout. Therefore I wouldn't take his opinion on a player's potential as gospel, but from my point of view he is interesting to read or listen to.
Fair enough. I am sure he is a decent enough journalist.
If someone from the club had told him Kayky was a CM then surely he would have mentioned that fact? Smells like speculation to me.
All I am saying is not to treat his opinions as anything more than the opinion of a random journalist.
Whenever a PL or top European club sign a player from South America, every TV station seem to trip over themselves trying to amplify this guys opinion and massage his ego as THE South American expert. He's about as knowledgeable of South American football as Piers Morgan is of English football.
This is the guy I want...
