You will find a very talented defender, with a huge sense of responsibility and with a leadership profile you are looking for since Kompany left.

A great kid and one of our best academy players joining others like Bernardo, Cancelo and Ederson.

It's a funny cock up by us and a bit of banter on their end. Hardly takes anything away from the fact that we've just signed one of the best young centrebacks in Europe.

Cocks ups by our ineffective PR people are so common and seemingly everlasting its not funny. Makes us look like business amateurs.
The cock up has meant that the Mirror has been able to play down the signing of 'one of the best young centre backs in Europe.

All this unrelenting stuff from the media gives me the shits irrespective of whether you hive a shit or not.

Let them play it down. I'm not really bothered about the opinion of a rival fan who is going to be swayed by the way any tabloid reports our business because it's on the pitch that matters.
 
I would be more comfortable were he called Ruben Ewing Diaz, but nigh the same age as Laporte, 6ft 12ins, Vinnyesque bullet headers, two red cards by Christmas - we take a good sized piece of timber and those fuckin' lumberjacks from PiGMOL will be out with a chainsaw!
