Remember, there's always the risk of scooping up a Ricardo Alvarez or Gaston Ramirez in one of your South American raids.

Looks a player. Can't quite decide if he's more like Kev, Gundo or Rodri, or even Cancelo. Doesn't seem to have the finishing or long shots but certainly has the passing ability and potentially holding on to the bank under pressure, but I still think that in Kev, Gundo and in particular Bernie and Rodri we already have some of the worlds best in that department.

Not the finished article and clearly our hand is being forced by Benfica directly or indirectly, but food to know we're increasing prepared to go direct to source for talent rather than pay the premium by letting another club in Europe take a chance on them

Could also make Benfica more reluctant to sell to a club other than City if Perrone states a preference for us, or open then to a deal to do a loan or swap in the future.

If benfica are looking at this guy to replace Enzo then I’m chuffed we are looking at him now! We need to trust these types of signings more and under Pep it could save us hundreds of millions going forward? We could have had Enzo for €10-15m and need to learn to trust development and not wait until we have to pay £60-100m for these guys only a couple of years later.
