Not sure if this has been mentioned but can the new software support a 'Thanks' button on posts?

I often ask questions on the forum and some answers are particularly helpful but currently require a quote and reply post for my thank you.
A simple thanks button that tallies the number of thanks each poster accumulates would be useful to all posters.

There is the option of a "likes" system, whereby you can like people's posts. I disabled it though, as I didn't think people would be keen on it as it's a bit Facebook.

You know your members much better than me Ric so thanks for your explanation.
In fairness my experience of this is on on an American Technical Forum for AV where questions rather than views are the main post content.

I prefer the new layout and it is quicker too.
Quotes in posts a bit strange at first but overall the change is good.

The preview thread feature is a good touch. Saw it used on other forums before and often thought it would be quite useful here to avoid some of the erm.. shadier cellar threads.

We had it on the last version as well.

On my comp just showed up as a few words in tooltip when I hovered over the thread title on the list. Can see a good few sentences on it now.

There's a like option on SSC, which it's very popular. It was added last year and has been a success in terms of posters contribution to the forum. It's nice to know other posters value your posts/contributions regardless of content.
