Probably today for the first time as a season ticket holder I haven't been able to fill my seat when I havent been able to attend. I have always sold or given my ticket away and as a kid I benefited from a system of encouraging new fans or fans who can't afford to pay full price from tickets passed on. These new "rules" are against everything I thought city was about and if we haven't already we are turning into what I used to hate. We have a new stand to fill and I hope occasional supporters/ tourists take up the slack as the club seem to doing their best to drive the traditional / low income support away. Rant over.

Not a good idea to post when pissed.

Probably not but I am pissed off there was an empty seat because I couldn't transfer a ticket to fan who wanted to go which there was.
Rule R16 of this season’s PL Handbook.

Essentially all supporters attending a PL game must be registered with the clubs.

I suppose the question is whether the club are doing anything different/worse than other clubs with regard to allowing only 3x non-members to be associated with the supporter at any one time or by not allowing ad-hoc registrations.

Well make sure you add that fan to your list. I do think you have a point. I like digital ticketing in theory but the clubs systems are not working.

I have a different problem. My phone won't get me through the turnstile and I have to ask the guys in white on the turnstile to let me in. This puts me off buying tickets for friends and family. So far City refuse to give me a plastic seasoncard which I think is against Premier League rules.

The example in the PL rules for issuing plastic cards is for when the supporter has a disability (perhaps when having a mobile phone is not a practical option for them) so not sure there’s anything in the rules in your favour for your problem.

Just add the person you want to sell the ticket to to your friends and family group and transfer the ticket

But you can transfer tickets even to people who don't have a paid membership, you just need to be organised enough to make it happen, you clearly weren't

I know factually that Soriano holds the “legacy” fans in a certain amount of contempt.
He cares only about the tourists and the £ that they bring.
Perhaps you should be suspicious of business interests but I think you should be less suspicious of new supporters. We've gone from 34k at Maine Rd and soon it will be 60k. Much of City's new supporters will be from different backgrounds to you.

Why not put the ticket on the exchange? It's not an ideal solution but at least makes the ticket available.
As an aside the seat next to me is usually sold on the exchange but was empty yesterday so perhaps the pricing is just too silly.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of occasional match goers needing to have a match day membership, I’ve noticed the tickets on face value forums have got cheaper. Blues can pick spares for peanuts if they have the membership.

I’m not sure why you needed your own thread about being unable to transfer a ticket?

Who would you have given your ticket too?

There appears to be ways around the rules so I'm guessing the person you had in mind never goes, doesn't even have a supporter number and would probably be unlikely to go again unless a free ticket was on offer?

If they have then add them to your F & F.

I had a empty yesterday but the decision was made a 70 minutes before ko.

I would have struggled to shift it the old way short of offering to some stranger outside who could turn out to be a c**t and get the ticket banned!
