or would you rather us be shit?
i like where we are now
It has NOTHING to do with us being shit.

Its about our identity as a club...(not the team)
I'm basking in the present.........

But I know were we came from,to get to this point

Pessimism/Optimism...............It`s a fine line

fair enough mate.

some on here need e reality check tho

went to Blackpool on the Sat Night, well rough in the morning, went on a pub crawl on the sunday before the match, topping up on the night before, was that pissed didn't realise we'd won when Weaver saved

Got banned from Milton Keynes the night before with a few other coach loads of blues.
Accidently ate a teenth walking down wembley way and spent the game zombified
also met uwe in the tunnel drinking warm carlsberg/heineken out of plastic bottles
was overcome with emotion - shedding tears at the gournos
bumped into the ref/linesman after the match who seemed to be having a right good time
didn't say a word all the way home...drained

What is it, exactly, that we're supposed to be getting over and moving on from??? Everyone on here will be more than happy we are where we are, but lets not go kidding ourselves that its not largely due to what happened on that momentous day, because it is. We could easily have lost that game, as it looked like we were going to do, and we could have done a Leeds and stayed there for years. Do you think the Sheikh would have bankrolled a spree in the 3rd division? No, neither do I. I don't see who your 'boring' comment is labelled at either, because there is nothing boring about talking about our recent success, and thats exactly what that day was, a success. I like you comment further on too about how people need a reality check!. What is that comment all about? I don't understand that at all. You actually sound like one of these new fans who has tagged onto the club now its rich and where success is imminent. Most of us on here though are decades-long fans who have seen the shit times, like having Macclesfield as our derby and scraping out of the league in injury time and penalties, so we know exactly what reality is, ta very much. You might not be a new fan, but I won't apologise for that comment if you're not, because your comment was taking shot at us for remembering and reminiscing about a day which areguably changed the fortunes of the club, and part of that fortune was to eventually attract the owners we are lucky enough to have.

I remember coming out after the game and all the Gillingham coaches were still stuck there in the car park. Thousands of blues goading them, doing congas round their parked up coaches.

"Two nil up and you fucket it up" and all that malarkey. They were absolutely gutted, but took it in good spirits. I remember thinking that was very nearly us, we were so close to being the ones being ridiculed in the car park after the match. On the way home our 52 seater coach stopped somewhere near Wembley at an off licence. Whilst a few from the coach were getting served at the counter, a handful of others decided the take advantage of crates of beer sitting just inside the shop. Memories from a great day I'll never forget.

I was actually pleased for Gillingham going back to Wembley the following season and getting to feel the elation of a Play-Off Final victory, like we did 12 months earlier.

Yeah I remember being chuffed for them too the following season, just as we were getting promoted again!

Went with my mum and dad and a few of their friends, we stayed over in a hotel for a couple of nights I think. Don't remember a lot of the game but when we were 2 nil down I remember the feeling around the crowd and a group of young lads stood behind us smashed their chairs up and left early. I was gonna take one of the broken chairs home with me as a souveneir but was worried I might get in trouble for it as someone might think I was gonna throw it at someone

Billy Idol was a few rows in front of us IIRC, think we also saw Squeaky Mclean that day though I'm not as sure about that one. My mum predicted most of the penalties right but I dont think she could watch them at the time. I remember the buzz after and evryone dancing around as they played Status Quo rockin all over the world, it's probably the only Status Quo song I like and always reminds me of that day

There was alot of that, frayed tempers. I remember being on the steps outside and hearing loads of Blues calling for Millwall to show themselves, this after a big rumour they, (Millwall), were supposed to be ambushing City fans, a rumour which as per usual, was complete bullshit.

How do you accidentally eat a teenth?

That's like those MPs who "accidently" end up getting shagged on Hampstead Heath
