That's what I was going to say. Don't restrict yourselves to Wembley as it's a shithole and very easy to get elsewhere in North London or even further afield.

We stayed in the WEmbley Hilton and it made life pretty damned easy. A bar overlooking the stadium approach, parking underneath etc.

After the game the pubs on WEmbley High Road were rocking with celebrating City fans and it was the same after the 2011 final.

It saves a lot of arsing around.
I'm sure it does, but the cheapest room at the moment is £170, which obviously isn't realistic for everyone. I'm just suggesting people don't blindly restrict themselves to the immediate vicinity of the ground. You can stay in the pubs around Wembley til after 11pm and still get to pretty much anywhere in London without too much hassle.

Oh I agree with that, alright. We've stayed in Harrow twice before and it's a good base.

Stayed in Hilton and rebooked when checking out. It really is a perfect base, albeit not the cheapest option. Can't wait.

Isn't it a shame you can't take beer on the balcony of the bar area?

We went in the main bar on the third floor straight after the game and were happy enough sat on the sofas by the windows, drinking a pint of Stella and watching the beaming faces of all the City fans piling out. I got talking to groups of blues from Halifax and NI and basically sat there with a stupid fucking grin on my face just enjoying the moment so didn't go out to the balcony.
Decided to treat myself to an executive room this time so shall look forward to trying out the penthouse bar.

Just booked the Hilton myself.I looked at cheaper hotels but some at £125 or more had mixed reviews. At least the Hilton is safe and clean and so close it is worth the extra dosh i think unless on a tight budget.

I have the option to upgrade to the executive suite for another £35[if one is available] anyone know if this is worth it?

I didn't take the option for the exutive suite on Sunday but have gone for it for the final - so I hope so.. Haha!

It would only be worth it if free drinks etcetera. Was the Hilton ok?I am being given time off work and travel back to Kent the next day which is why i am staying at the Hilton.I hope jeans and trainers are ok,lol!!

What are the bar prices like?

4 of us driving down on Saturday morning, booked in at Holiday Inn Express @ Hemel Hemstead , double room £46 free parking, and the hotel is next to the railway station. Group ticket for 4 off peak return inc. travelcard zones 1-6 £36 for 4

all in £32 each + a tenner petrol each.

Did it last year....absolute doddle, trains back from London until the wee small hours, leisurely (complimentary breakfast) and set of late morning for home.

We didn't bother with the upgrades but fell lucky with the rooms. I called them on the Friday and requested rooms with interconnecting doors. They managed it and the bonus was a Wembley view from the fifth floor, happydays.

I have to say what a refreshing change to stay in a place which actively welcomes football supporters. I recommend the Hilton wholeheartedly.

Jeans and trainers were fine at the weekend, though I didn't go upstairs so not sure if its any different. I was drinking Stella straight after which was £4.90 if I remember correct. Was on JD when I got back at midnight but have no idea what they cost as I was pleasantly pissed..
As far as the hotel goes it was perfect for my needs. Lovely rooms, right on the doorstep and a couple of Eastern European stunners checking you in - couldn't grumble..
