Getting the train down for the first time

Anyone got any experience of the train back to wigan , looking at getting the 20.30 back which is the last train

We haven’t been allocated a seat so I assume it will be rammed ?

Could be. I have a similar time line. Was think of going to The Volley pub on Old Street (2 stops from Euston) but may just stay around Kings Cross for a couple of hours then head to Wembley.

Lots of Tommy Robinson's mob will be around Euston/Kings Cross area as that's there meet up point so may wanna swerve it and go somewhere else

It will be busy but couple of unreserved carriages. I might be on that if we win . (Warrington) If we lose I’ll be on the 6.30!

This sometimes helps get a jump on people for those carriages. Usually has the platform on before it comes on the boards at Euston. Always been accurate for me.

I'm doing similar, wondering whether to drink around Marylebone or to head out to Wembley and try and get a drink round there. Not going to be in London until 12ish.

Lioness Line from Euston to Wembley Central every 15 mins. Direct takes about 20 mins

Is there a train from Euston to Wembley Central or is it best on underground to Wembley Park?

I go to Wembley Park tube because I am familiar with it, and I like walking out of Wembley Park Tube down onto Wembley Way. I have never used Wembley Central because I just stick to what I know. The trains on the Met. line are very frequent so I have never bothered to look for an alternative.

I am assuming that you go from London to Manc and then onto Wigan. I can only speak about Euston to Manchester Picc. If you are doing this there are 3 coaches with unreserved seats C, G and U, and these are rammed. When you arrive at Euston and look for the trains back, it won't say what platform the train leaves for until the last moment, and literally hundreds then sprint to board the train. First come, first served.

This time it should be much better because it's a Saturday, and it's a 3pm KO and I think that means that there will be less of a scrum for the trains back i.e., City fans will have more trains to choose from
