The general rule is at least half a banknote to get a replacement. Youll be fine mate
 
You can see how that it was the metal strip that caused the fire. I had a similar experience last week. I put some honey in the microwave melt it but did not notice some gold lettering.

Quite a little fire I had there for a few moments.

Aren't experiments just the best?
 
Update: went to Barclays in reddish, they printed off the same forms as skash posted a link for, and I sent off the burnt offerings by special delivery to Bank of England LEEDS. £7.32 which I thought was pretty good. Fingers crossed eh?
I've never asked my wife why she warms up the plates/gravy jugs etc, till this lunchtime. She said the reason is, it takes longer for the gravy to form a skin on the top, because you always moan if there is one! So there we fucking have it, all my fault! :)
