From WSC: GER have 28400 UEFA "B" licenced coaches. ITA 27430, ESP 9135. England have 1759

From Marcotti on Twitter.

Yeah but have plenty of coaches and Dad's on the sidelines of junior games screaming "Boot the fucking ball out if in doubt. Don't try and pass it in our third" etc etc.

I'd like to know exactly how many of the German & Spanish teams were actually born in the country they are playing for.

podolski & klose were born in poland and cacau was born in brazil. otherwise all the german squad were born in germany even though the parents or grandparents of some were immigrants.

This idiot has unwittingly hit on the reason why their are so many top class English players having their careers blocked by 'average' foreign imports.
City can buy a seasoned international who played a major part in one of world footballs greatest club team's record breaking season for less than a leeds academy graduate who has achieved nothing and played a handful of games in what we are being told is a truly awful england team that we are destroying. We can also buy the creative player that Reade claims yaya is not for less than Milner.
City can also buy a highly rated young german defender who can play in any position across the back four and started most of the world cup semi finalists games in a unfavoured position for alot less than dipperpool spent on our crap national teams right back and who cost just a few million more than chris smalling (who incidentally cost more than average foreign imports like Kompany and Zabaletta).

Isn't it time we imported some foreign journalists to replace those lazy British overpriced, lying, expence rich hacks from Wapping.
I heard that there are plenty of Polish journalists who would be happy to do the job for half the price, don't need 3 months holiday in the Carribean, would be more reliable, honest, hard working and don't need to live in some spleandour at Kensington or Chelsea. The would also do Sunday morning TV programmes for free (included in the price).

The FA could send representatives into the FA's of Holland, Germany, Spain and in 3 months come back with their knowledge and rewrite the training course.

Also coaches should be encouraged to learn foreign languages and we should start placements abroad so they can learn the good aspects of the top nations training regimes and coaching systems.

England is a multicultural country, unfortunately its football is symbolically stuck in 1945.

That article is so riddled with errors it's hard to believe he gets paid for it.

But no tale has scared me as much as the one I read in a sniffy broadsheet, last Sunday, which could have come from the business pages

Only in the wacky world of Brian Reade is the News of the World a "sniffy broadsheet".

Brian Reade said:
Even more frightening was what that report didn’t say. Toure is not actually that great. He’s not a creative genius who will get backsides off seats but a defensive midfielder who stops players who can.

I'm sure "Toure is not actually that great" is news to Pep Guardiola. But then again, he only manages the best team in the world.

Brian Reade said:
He may not even get a game for City, who already have four highly-rated players to fill that role – Patrick Vieira, Gareth Barry, Nigel de Jong and Vincent Kompany.

The words of someone who didn't see City play any games last season.

Brian Reade said:
See the shaking of parents’ heads when City scouts ask to let their little fella join their academy.

Didn't seem to stop Alex Henshall joining last month.

Brian Reade said:
See the disillusion on the faces of the City youngsters who won the Youth Cup two years ago.

If he did a bit of research (!), he would know that the number of players from any Youth Cup-winning team that make it into the first team is low, and always has been. He'd also know that Nimely, Boyata and Ibrahim have recently signed long-term contracts.

Brian Reade said:
We just don’t have the players. Mainly because they’ve had their way blocked by average, over-paid foreign mercenaries.

Because the England team was so dominant before the influx of foreign players.
