We're Top of the League

Iy would be like City finish second with the highest number of points ever acheived for a second plae team. That said I have a feeling that Blackburn and possibly Neverton could take something off the scum. So long as we are no more than three points behind them or even in from of them come the derby then anything is possible. I cannot believe the amount of shite on this forum from people who have either only been watching City for a few years or people who obviously have forgotten the shit we watched through the 80's, 90's and early noughties!

What gets me every game i go to even at home is the distinct lack of shooting we do. All our main attacking outlets are great strikers of the ball but no one does it.
They all have it in their locker, Nasri v Everton, Yaya v Stoke, Aguero v Swansea, Silva v Bolton and so on.

They don't lack confidence as inside the box the chances are put away on a regular basis but when like v Stoke there is 11 players inside their box we just need to hit it and a deflection, handball or it might drop to someone can easily happen.

Just look at how many long range strikes we have scored this season, Aguero v Swansea, Barry v Bolton, Yaya v Stoke etc and then you have shots hitting the bar even like Nasri v Everton and Balo v WBA.

Just watched through some highlight videos again and you have goals either direct or via a deflection in and then ones which are palmed out but put in.

Johnson v Norwich/Stoke/Wolves, Balotelli v Arsenal for Silva, Silva v Wolves for a Kolarov tap in and that is only after a few videos.

SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT!!!!!!

Fulham 2-2 (foul on Dzeko leading to their first)
Chelsea. 2-1 (penalty that would have potentially made it 2-0 not given)
WBA 0-0 (onside goal disallowed)
Liverpool. 1-1 (reina allowed to stay on after deliberate handball outside the box)
Sunderland. 1-0 (offside goal given)
Everton 1-0 (foul on Dzeko not given again, Drenthe GBH)
Swansea. 1-0 (better team won fair and square)
Stoke. 1-1 (foul on Barry before Crouch goal not given)

You can't measure each result on 1 incident given against us in 90 minutes of play.

In most of those games we've made enough chances to have taken all 3 points, but failed to convert most of them. Fulham, WBA, Sunderland, stand out.

You/we can't keep on blaming refs. That's what you're doing.
Our away form is better than Utd's was last season and they were champions.
True, but we're competing with the 2012 version of United, not the 2011 one. A quick look at United's away form this season tells you how, given our exceptional home form, we are not top of the league. Their away form has been superb, if not in performances then certainly in points accumulation.

So we've improved significantly.

But so have last years Champions.

Wow we must be so shit not to be easily romping this league lol

A good point well made.

To win the title. Excellent point today keeps us tucked in there. Oh sorry, puts us on top of the league. Well done blues and all the fans that went and backed the team.

with the Rags a league game in hand.

Anyone that sincerely claims we're top of the league, just on a small GD alone, with the Rags an easy home game in hand, is an idiot.

League table must be wrong then, and all the "idiots" who publish it. negative shite, exactly what the OP was getting at. I bet you're a right laugh to go for a drink with. miserable git

We improved significantly, then we took a step backwards and are no better than last season at the moment. It's clear for anyone to see that our away form over the past 4 months has been nowhere near good enough. Look at the entire season as a whole if you like, I'd suggest the last 4 months have more bearing on how we play in our next 4 away games than the first 4 months of the season.

Another good point.

I've never seen such a difference between our second half home form generally and our away form since xmas.

At home, during the second half we constantly create chances and look like we could put 4 or 5 past everyone. Even when we went down 2-0 against Sporting, I believed we could score 4 goals.

Our away form is ridiculously different. We rarely create clear cut chances and instead fail to penetrate. What was glaringly obvious on Saturday was the pressing of Whitehead and Whelan on our midfield two in the second half and how it was crying out for one of our centre halves to say fuck it and carry the ball forward and take a risk which would have completely altered the way stoke then pressed and would have given us an extra man.
