Wesley (Brazilian right back)

You can never trust a Brazilian footballer with a boring name.

Fred. Jo. Alisson. Antony. Need I go on?

The spellings don't fool me. If it's Anglicized, avoid.

To be fair, this Wesley kid has no one else but himself to blame, he had every chance to replace the last two letters in his name with an "inho".

Haven’t watched him at all. But he’s apparently Brazils best right back and fans want him to start for the NT. Not saying much though since they’re not stacked for right back options. Only him, Vanderson at Monaco and the corpse of Danilo

It’s funny because half the time we want those players Brighton find before they are worth £80m
Then when we are linked to players like these we moan they are not established and we are taking a risk

Exactly! Viana is a data guy as well as visual and its exactly how Brighton do things?

But haven’t we just bought two inexperienced defenders? Wouldn’t surprise me if they are loaned out next season. The full backs are critical signings this summer and imo we need established quality players.

Going for Wesley makes it more likely other players we go for in other positions are homegrown. If it was Livramento we went for, that would allow another foreign player instead.

Khusanov will stay no doubt imo, Reis will be loaned though. Wesley may just actually be a class signing? I think Cambiaso will come in as well though but that maybe for the left side.

We do hate obvious choices don’t we? Why him when Vanderson exists ? I don’t get it. Watch Pep not even using him for whatever reasons

A million reasons we think we don't look at players. We as fans see them for 10-20% of a players week on the pitch. The club take into account the other 80% etc

Know nothing of him, but was just googling around and noticed both Ola Aina and Matty Cash are classed ad home grown.

Not going to say no to a Brazilian full back who is in the full squad already, but he really has to be coming in for the first team rather than another but to loan type player. If that is Wesley, then as you wish.
