West Brom (A) | Post-Match Thread

There were points in that first half where it was telepathic. No look passes, players knowing where to be and where to go, just beautiful.

They were much better off under Bilic.

Zinchenko is pretty much a pep vessel, doing pretty much Exactly what pep wants from a player. He seems to consistently do it as routine, it's been drilled right in there. He makes the odd mistake and that gets noticed, but the boring one touch pass-turn-move-overlap geta missed.

When laporte came on and he moved into midfield he looked lost for the first 5-10 minutes, but after that he actually looked alright in there. Interesting choice from pep, given the midfield we have, wonder if it is a 'there you go boyo, you've finally earned it'.

Rodri bossed it tonight, the number of times he was in all sorts of positions all over the pitch. He also was living up to his busquets comparison, in cutting out opposition movement.

Cancelo, what a player. Again, one that found himself everywhere, good vision, good passing skill, and not a bad shot on him either.

Pep hadnt been at City long when he told a reporter that if he could he would play with 11 midfielders. Tonight he got his wish. There was that much movement and interchanging of positions, Zinchenko started as a fullback but played in most of the first half in midfield, on comes a sub, he moves to midfield. Cancelo is a born midfielder, Stones and Dias had a go, all the forwards were also dropping back, it was total football.
No centre forward, not even Gabby and all comfortable with the ball at their feet.
