West Brom (h) post-match thread

The teams that have beat us or drawn with us have just sat back be confident in their defence and watch us pass the ball KDB is brilliant but when theres 5 to 6 players behind the ball on the other team how is he suppossed to create something? Same as Sterling his pace dosent work against a packed defence.

I don't get this approach: the opposition attack so we back-pedal to the edge of our own area.
Try getting some feckin'tackles in the centre circle.Mike Doyle would put his head in his hands if he could see the state of the modern game.
Also, you're a winger, right? Try the old trick of pushing the ball past your full-back and running very fast!!!!!

Silva threads ball through the six yard box. Kev is more raking balls and whipped crosses in. Losing Dave is a big issue when it comes to chances in around the six yard box playing in the small spaces. Created loads for Raheem and Serge.

Foden is not Silva and thinking he’d replace Dave was shortsighted. Foden is a hybrid between Kev and Dave. Bernardo on form is more of a Dave replacement but ultimately it’s very hard to replace a player like Dave.

4 points dropped against promoted teams already. 5 draws. And we haven’t beaten anyone higher than 10th.
We have a serious battle on for the top four, forget anything else. Dreadful recruitment taking its toll.
People keep saying this...what about the coaching and tactics?

It’s like they are all waiting for something to happen and they know they’re safe until at least 75 mins. If Pep started making earlier subs maybe the others would get the message that they need to push earlier - if we’d played the whole 2nd half like the last 10 mins we’d have won that easily
I reckon the entire team's train of thought for the past few seasons has been 'give it to Kev/Silva' and they will do something.

Now that Silva's gone and when Kev is not delivering, the rest looked devoid of ideas.

Not sure what our best starting eleven is right now. But whatever it is it has to have Walker at the back with Dias and Stones with Fernandinho and Gundogan and Aguero up top with Jesus

If we are so intent on floating balls into the box for that 7ft defensive pairing Bednarek and Vestergaard then may as well play with 2 up top to aim for. Delap might be worth a go.

Some players are coasting at the minute and Sterling Kdb are a couple of examples.

We are clearly being set up to be solid, conserve energy, not give anything anyway and create just enough chances to win games. If we took the simple chances we created that would have been job done.

Comparing us to previous seasons is pointless. The world has changed, the sport has changed. We’re trying to deal with that as well as we can, and often that feels kind of underwhelming.

This season was always going to be weird and unpredictable and that requires us to be mindful of context and patient with the real and fallible humans involved
I like your positive take on things but I just feel that we’re relying on these few killer chances to win it but if we consistently miss them there seems to be no backup plan. I’m fine with somewhat dull football if we’re getting results but we have no plan B

Not missing chances like we spurned at the death we wouldn’t

Get out your anger here.

There's alot to be angry about, but unfortunately, not alot to analyze, it's just all kind of shit.

Pep out, player "x" out, etc. None of these will really fix anything.

A total squad refresh is not feasible, we've spent boat loads, Pep HAS to make it work with what he's got, and the players also need to get up to speed.

It is what it is. I'm lowering my expectations drastically, and my enjoyment has lessened lately anyways.
