West Brom (h) post-match thread

It’s like they are all waiting for something to happen and they know they’re safe until at least 75 mins. If Pep started making earlier subs maybe the others would get the message that they need to push earlier - if we’d played the whole 2nd half like the last 10 mins we’d have won that easily
I'm having some of that. The subs need to be made with at least 20 to 25 minutes to go, in games like that.

I can only think that this turgid style of football is designed to makes us better in the champions league. But that may be wishful thinking. There doesn’t seem to be any urgency or desire to win Premier league matches and no apparent logic to some of the team selections.

We are clearly being set up to be solid, conserve energy, not give anything anyway and create just enough chances to win games. If we took the simple chances we created that would have been job done.

Comparing us to previous seasons is pointless. The world has changed, the sport has changed. We’re trying to deal with that as well as we can, and often that feels kind of underwhelming.

This season was always going to be weird and unpredictable and that requires us to be mindful of context and patient with the real and fallible humans involved

It wasn`t the other players fault that he consistently dawdled on the ball or hit regular misplaced passes.By the same token the lad can have an off game ... compared to some who consistently play poorly.
True, but he’s been off for a while. He’s one of the best players in the league, if not the world. When we upped it towards the end, hey presto, here’s Kev again.

We’re slowing him down. I know it’s harder without Silva to share the load, but if we consistently expect one player to rescue us, we’re fooked. Seen it before. Where’s Kinky when we need someone to blame?
