clear the players heads went after the gundogan injury. Fucking devastated for him.

Again though questions have to be asked about the defence all over the place in the second half.
 
Got the win which is the main thing. Decent first half where Gundogan was running the show. Second half we looked a little disjointed which is no surprise. Hope Gundogan just went off as a precaution. Players absolutely need to be take more responsibility for each other. Jacob doesn't even attempt a tackle just brings Gundogan down - PFA should be all over this kind of stuff.

Sane scored a beauty and Raheem was so close to a couple of worldies. Silva looks like a player that will shine when they team is playing better. Jesus worked hard. Would have liked to have seen Diaz or Foden but bringing them into a game like that second half would have been setting them up to fail. Would like to see one or the other start in the next round.
 
Without Gundogan we had no midfield. There was way too much space between our forwards and the midfield so we could not play out typical game and had to resort to long balls. Yaya could not move the whole game really poor performance.
 
The referee's have to start doing their job end off! If they don't they should be taken to task and dealt with.Our players regularly get kicked to fuck, the ref does nothing so we get frustrated and react, then WE get booked! It has to stop.

I've spoken about it on a lot of other threads but this is where a team playing over physical football impacts things. Because referees in England let you get away with murder West Brom were able to kick the shit out of us. Which is incredibly draining on our players as it saps the life out of them. That's part of the reason we got so weak towards the end. It's the same reasoning as to why United always score in the last 10 minutes.
 
Very good first 45 and very poor second 45 sums that up.

Credit too Pulis who took full advantage of the ref and got Ilkay kicked out of the fucking game which fucked us completely.

Hopefully its a bad knock only and nothing more sinister because up to that point he was brilliant.
