West Brom Post Match Thread

good to have a fit and interested Samir back. Sergio is coming back far to deep( at one point he picked the up behind Kolorov) can only be frustration that drives him to do this i applaud his commitment but that is not where he does the damage
Aguero had to keep dropping deep because we were effectively playing with 10 men whilst Bony was on. I feel for the man, but it hasn't worked for him here so far and I don't think it ever will based on today's performance.

3 points the most important thing at this point. Can't see performances improving now until Pep gets here.

Made hard work of that. KDB made a huge difference when he came on. Must have created four or five chances in his first ten minutes on the pitch. He's been a big loss for the last couple of months; he'll be the difference between CL qualification and fading to 5th/6th.

I thought Mangala had another good game today. When you consider kolarov was playing so far forward and the midfield was porous again he coped with it pretty well. The pen shout was a bit clumsy but it was a 50:50 decision at best and big centre halves are going to get a few of those over a season. He did a lot of good things defensively in the game and was decent on the ball.

100% penalty I thought and no need for it, we got lucky for once.

I was sort of with those blaming the system rather than the player but I think he is rash, lacks intelligence, has little pace over the first five yards and panics under pressure.

If Pep turns him into a player it will be some achievement.

Never does
Nah. Most of his posts are from the heart. He wants City to do as well as most of us. He just didn't communicate his point that well.

But I don't agree with him, I think 15 managers would have faired better with this squad, this season

Not the best game to sit and watch, but 3 points is just what the doctor ordered. We're still fighting for 4th and this game could easily have slipped from our grasp.
I thought West Brom played quite well, and certainly didn't park the bus (but they did defend well and in numbers).

Aguero leading by example yet again - but it's causing him to play all over the pitch which worries me.
Navas was ineffective for the umpteenth time, but I thought Nasri had a good first game back.
Bony was similar - ineffective. Occasionally he will hold the ball up, but to what end?
De Bruyne's presence made a real impact in the last half hour - we needed it too.

Nice assist from the ref when he body checked Nasri which lead to the break for the first West Brom goal. All the same, we still conceded a poor goal.

Hope Sergio's ok - I suspect he took a bruise rather than a strain / pull - as it looked like he was trying to run off his knock. Time will tell.

All in all though, it's the result that counts and we got what we needed.
