West Brom Vs City Post Match Thread

Very very good in the 1st half. The weather has probably saved their manager from the sack as all being equal I would have fancied us for the same again in the second half. From speaking to the baggies fans before the game I doubt he'd have survived a real beating so 3-1 has just about saved his neck.

Fantastic performance.
Great win. Scored the necessary goals then shut up shop and preserved our players energy for the next game..
Merlin was magnificent and Milner (my MOTM) ran his arse off and gave WBA no chance to build from the back.

My only concern was that I thought the game might be called off at one point with the amount of snow falling.
Shame about the goal conceded but understandable given the circumstances.

The BBC weather forecast was spot on too. Slightly concerning that they are becoming more accurate.

THE RULE ON ABANDONED MATCHES.
Whenever a match gets abandoned this page gets busy
with those who are wondering if the result will stand.
The answer in the English domestic game is that it won't.
The rule is that a match must last for 90 minutes so if it is
abandoned and so obviously hasn't got to the 90 minutes
then the abandoned match is void and must be restaged, in full.
That's often very unfair but thems the rules!
OK, there are a very few exception to that rule - read
on for details of those and a few interesting stories about
abandoned matches .....

Not entirely correct the laws of the game allow amendments by competition. In the following is a quote from the PL rules
"The Board may order a League Match which for whatever reason lasts for less than 90 minutes to count as a completed fixture or to be replayed either partially or in its entirety"

Yep, agree with this. Many references to replayed matches are with regard to cup games, which have differing competition rules. The Premier League FA handbook confirms that for any abandoned game (less than 90 minutes) the decision to treat the game as a completed fixture or replay is decided by The Board. There doesn't appear to be any specifics involved regarding the time/scoreline of the original match, although I'd presume that this would influence their decision.

I think the refs are influenced by how close. or not, the score is when the conditions deteriorate. If it had been 0-0 Clattenburg wouldnt have wanted the game decided by a freak goal. But at 0-3 and City passing the ball around precisely he would have looked foolish taking the players off.

A bit like the game at Burnley in 2010 which I'm sure would have been abandoned if we hadnt been winning by a cricket score.

Anyone else notice the number of micro-chips the City players started to do with 30 mins to go. Ball kicked 4 to 6 inches off the ground time and time again. I reckon they didn't want a drastically slowing ball to influence Clattenburg to abandon the game (as it was starting too on 60 mins)!

There's some nasty fuckers following City but there always has been, it's nothing new honest, they were there in the 60s right up until today, i'v had loads of run ins with pissed up Blues over the years and when they see you sober at the next game they can't apologise enough, I know what you mean though, they are a pain in the arse

Seemed worse today than usual. I've seen the odd spat between two piss heads before but today was much bigger scale in the concourse. A bloke shouldn't have to battle to get his 5 yr old son away through a bunch of coked up scroats fighting.

As for the bloke in his 30's in the aisle of A2 at the end of the game offering everyone out and lashing out....what a tool.
Sounds bad, bunch of wankers most probably not been sober over Christmas and drugs are becoming a problem with the younger element of Blues

I am surprised that they can afford to pay for both drugs and the high ticket prices!

Not many teams, if any, would have dropped points when playing away at WBA with no strikers, no Kompany-like CD, Clattenburg as a ref and in those weather conditions. Well done to players, Pellegrini, and the fans who went to see them. Hope you got on home well. 3 massive points!!

In the blizzard and snow the champions are cruising with another 3 points in tow. And James Milner his jersey to the crowd he throws.

Any pix of Milner boring shirtless under the snow?

Thank you very much, indeed.

Interestingly enough, the bottom photo somehow reminds me of a mature and composed Jimmy Grimble.

Itv hardly mentioned City.. The focus is firmly on Chelsea, Rags and Arsenal...

Unbelievable

Good job I prefer us being underdogs

Bang on - the whole evening sport bulletin was constructed around " Can United catch Chelsea - no mention of us"
Under the radar again ? - that'll do nicely.

Great first half. Weather ruined the second. Treacherous conditions on way home.

The only negative are the scroats who seem to turn up with nothing but a fight in mind. They are a fucking disgrace to our club and the behaviour in the concourse before the game where at least 10-15 were fighting other blues and then stewards was completely out of order. Small kids were caught up in this shit but these fucking gobshites don't give a fuck.

This then carried on in block A2 during the game with some tool halfway up wanting a fight with anyone and smacking someone at the end of game.

Sorry ...if what u are referring to is wat i seen....the bloke with kid shoudnt of got involved
if its the same incident i saw...the bloke with the lad was pissed.
the bloke had kid in his arms and was confronting stewards,
Kid was screaming.
stewards were aware kid he was screaming and were trying to calm him
bloke could easily of backed off
he should of backed off...he was aggressive, hostile and upsetting his son

not sure why he got angry....but he had a young lad in his arms and he should of backed off
