West Brom Vs CityPost Match Discussion Thread

He always has the players in mind to book prior to the game, used to be Belamy, now it's always Balo. He isn't the worst ref (Foy, Mason, Dowd, Halsey are worse), but he never seems to have a decent fair game
He reffed us this same weekend last season. We won away, 6-1.

Clattenburg was a disgrace!! I was listening to Radio WM on the way back and there were a number of WBA fans complaining about him and someone said "You can tell when a ref has had a bad game when both sets of fans boo him off the pitch and chant obscenities at him'

Reckon he is trying to get back in Baconface's good books!!

I'm sure there was a spell not so long ago where we went 2 or 3 years without winning from behind. Now i almost EXPECT us to find a way to win when trailing, and it seems the players do too. Typical City!

I remember it was something noted about Mancini that many, myself included, were worried about during our first season and a half. We were very good at closing games out from winning positions but terrible at winning (or getting anything at all) from loosing ones. Fortunately we didn't make a habit of constantly going behind in matches.

This new belief we have though is fantastic. Games last for 90 minutes plus stoppage time and too few players play like it. It's over when the full time whistle goes, not a moment before. We really couldn't have made the point any better last season.

Until we went down to 10 men we were totally bossing the game. To play about 70 mins with 10 men & come back from a goal behind, away to an in form team, & win is an amazing effort.

Not seen any of the game yet, but given the circumstances this is a very good victory, they've been doing very well, and though its early days they look like they will be difficult to beat at home.

The biggest improvement in this City squad is the fact that we don't believe we can't win, right until the end we keep going, to do it with only 10 men for 70 minutes makes this result even better.

An absolutely brilliant victory today and well deserved too!!!

Kompany tried to take on 2 players, he got past the first and lost the ball to the 2nd who played a 1st time pass to their forward who was behind Milner to start with but started his run before Milner got realised he was the last man.

Milner did the best he could, but alas the sending off was inevitable in the circumstances. Baconface said last year that if a player is the last man, don't bring the player down and leave your team with 10 men. I not suggesting for a minute that Milner didn't make the best attempt he could to stop the player, but perhaps on reflection he should have erred on the side of caution and left the player with a 1-on-1 with Hart.

Having said that, going down to 10 men seemed to anger and galvanise the boys and the way we played from there onwards you'd be forgiven for thinking it was WBA who were a man short we were that good!!! I was saying at the time that win, lose of draw, that this match would be a key moment in the season for us because for the 3rd match running, the Manchester City of last season showed themselves.

It was great to see Richards back and for the poster who said Nasri was awful, you must have been watching a different game to me mate because I thought Nasri was quietly brilliant.

The only downside to the match was that since we've been playing the Championship winning team from last season, our form has improved vastly! I hope this is because the new players need time to bed in and not because we've panicked at the last minute and bought worse players than we already had......

Great game from Edin & simply magnificent from City to come from a goal down with 10 men
