West Ham (A) - EFL Cup R4 - Post-Match Thread

I was criticising KDB's game this time last season, and from when he started this season. It's clearly a fitness issue.

It's difficult watching a game on the TV but I had the impression last night that KDB was more energetic than he has been of late.

We know from last season that his form picked up as he got fit. The same thing will happen again. IMO we should play him back into form. I don't think he's that far away.

We should also play Sterling on the left.

The poor form of KDB is predictable because we saw exactly the same thing last season. It does though offer a massive upside. KDB is a huge potential source of goals / assists. So far he has zero assists in the League. Imagine what City will be like when he starts to click. He will.

Not so widely mentioned is the poor contribution from Grealish who has added very little to City's game (1 lucky goal and 2 assists).

City are doing well this season because of Bernardo, and Foden who have been on fire. This is good news not bad because is means we are not playing at our full potential yet.

IMO City fans should stop bashing Sterling. Why do you do this? He's playing far below potential but your job is to lift him.
What's his job?

I think its time to get rid of all of them in January
i think if KDB's form continues this way we could see a big decision may need to be made within another season after this. It looks if injuries could be starting to catch up on him - the flip side is that we could see a revised role for him....maybe a deep lying playmaker

Mahrez - ive never been a huge fan of him and even though his performances last season visably improved I still think he is erratic in his performance levels and too predictable in his play - which is such a shame as he is possibly the most naturally gifted footballer with the best first touch baring David Silva we have had in recent times. - Id be very tempted to move him on at the end of this season if he is at that point in his contract.

Sterling may go with his contract situation - id be tempted to keep him BUT only if he wants to be 100% at the club. If he doesnt....adios with best wishes

Grealish - needs to bed in this season and a lot of players struggle with Peps ways initially......at the moment however he is a solid player nothing more, nothing less.
