will the dippers be able to cope with the conditions on friday, they dont like wind and rain50 mph winds forecast. Will the London Stadium be able to cope with the conditions.?
pitch size is not as big a factor as it used to be, more pertinent is the length of the turf, how flat it is and how much it is watered. The old Wembley was max size and that was blamed for the number of players "cramping up", when in fact it was the "lush" turf i.e. too long., not my words but one of City's wingers. The old 'ighbury was about as small as any i can recall and it was a graveyard for City, who had a huge pitch. Think it was John Bond who narrowed Maine Rd to make it easier for us to defend(ffs). Should be a routine 3 points on saturday, imho, the blue juggernaut is fit and firing...
PicturesAymeric Laporte is fit and 100% available ahead of Manchester City’s Premier League opener against West Ham on Saturday. He will travel to London with the rest of the team tomorrow. [@10JoseAlvarez]
Jesus Christ! Will you argue black is white?
Not every pitch in the Premier League is the same size like you claimed. Despite you saying every pitch is identical in size, you then said Wolves had a smaller pitch because Molineux is small. I am merely pointing out that Hillsborough has a bigger pitch than Etihad, London Stadium, St James'Park, Old Trafford and all other PL clubs with a bigger stadium.
There is a standard size for PL pitches. They only way pitches are different sizes are if the stadium cannot fit the standard size.
If Sheffield Wednesday were promoted to the PL, then their pitch would conform to PL rules.
There are rules for pitch size but it is a window with maximum and minimum dimensions.
Ours is bigger than all the others in the PL.
