Surprised no Angelino on the bench to be honest. Hope he is up to our standard desperate for him to do well now he has returned but he didn't have the best pre season now he is dropped for the first game.

I think he is the new Delph (in terms of squad status/role) to be honest. He won’t make the match day squad barring injuries, but will play in the league cup.

Yeah; not all of them, by any means. Bernardo wouldn't. Showpony, and they've already got the dabmaster to fill that role. Aguero's past his best, so he wouldn't. Ditto Gundogan. Cancelo is still wet behind the ears, so that's a no. Ditto Foden. Otamendi and Bravo might though.

Was thinking the same thing, he really seems to be a guy that has to be backed and made to feel like he's playing a big part, rather than a bit part.

Starting him in the opener sends that message, it's up to him now to take his chance - especially with Leroy out until next year.

Yeah I agree. When us mere mortals pick our teams we pick it based solely on form and fitness. But Pep picks it based on form, fitness and psychology. He’s not human. Love him.
