It is a little bizarre. Pep NEVER plays an unchanged lineup but today he chooses to do so with a team that was awful against Porto. It’s difficult to understand.

i can just about understand that Pep is starting Garcia in the hope of convincing him to stay but what I can’t understand is why Pep can’t see that he’s just not good enough.

I genuinely think it’s the old Spanish thing. I genuinely can’t see how he thinks he’s good enough.

Leroy played loads despite not renewing. He even played post restart.

But relative to where he was and his level of ability, he dropped down the pecking order and got significantly fewer starts when he started being awkward over his contract. Doesn't appear to have made any difference at all to Garcia's chances of being picked. Might have even enhanced them to try to persuade him to stay.

He's our player on a technicality, not because he wants to be here. Why, when so many players would love to be here, are we playing Garcia who doesn't? The Silva and Aguero point you made bears no relevance.
