Steve Redmond falling on his a##e scoring a penno?
Battering on early Sky appearance about 93?
Taking a (rare) lead under Joe Royle before getting absolutely battered.
Asa Hartford getting sent off - as we took a right royal cockney battering in the early 80's.

Wasn't the one where Redmond scored the pen in the last minute ??

City fans fighting amongst themselves for some reason and then had to run the gauntlet of them fans waiting around each corner...........

Bizarre............

Second away match of the 77/78 season, we'd just stuffed Villa 4-1 away in midweek - no segregation, had to keep a lid on it when Joe Royle scored a late winner. 6 or 7 City coachloads there, typically ours was the first to leave, turned the corner and about half a dozen windows were put through. Adding insult to injury it rained on the way back up the motorway, blasting into the coach at 70mph. West Ham was not a good place to go in the 70s.

Getting told to leave the Boleyn last year by a monster of a man

Fucking rough that pub, just walking past it in the 70s was dangerous enough!
Can't believe I was on the same coach it was funny watching them sing to Helen were,s your bell after getting of the coach. Last year was great taking over the Castle pub before the game met west ham fans in there after the match and they couldn't believe we packed out there pub , there the city of the south .

Last game of the 1966/67 season - we drew 1-1

My wife and I drove down to London, parked in the centre because I didn't want to leave my new Ford Corsair car anywhere near the ground. Got back to Manchester around midnight, too tired to set the car alarm and some bastard stole the car. Fortunately the police found it a couple of days later, intact apart from the radio, a camera and a coat.

Did they have car alarms back then?

It was a device that worked on the movement principle. You needed to switch it on and then any movement would sound the horn. A bit primitive but it did work as I caught someone trying to break in outside my parents house a few months after it was stolen. They were so scared when the horn started sounding they just stood rooted to the spot - my dad and I collared them and marched them to the cop shop where they got a good old fashioned clip round the ear.

1987 relegation game , the scenes on the pitch at the end im sure w ham sung ur the pride of Manchester to the City fans?
Meanwhile I was in their main stand looking pissed off , Hammers walking past sussed it and said don't worry lad you will be back !!

This one was unreal. I could not believe they came an applauded us at the end of the match. I thought they were coming over the the away end for a battle.

Yep. It was my first away game. Crazy introduction. We had a slim chance of staying up if we won and other results went our way but the writing was on the wall when Imre Banana was injured and didn't play. Think they scored earlyish and got another later on. Like most people I thought the Wham fans massing on the pitch at the end meant big trouble but can remember only mutual respect. Clearly remember one guy stood there in a Maze and Frankie Beverley t-shirt. Essex soul boys!

Good post. That game is now legendary, fans have talked about that for years. On a side note I remember seeing FB and maze at the hammer smith odeon in 83 with their we are one tour. Think I still have the blue t shirt somewhere in the loft at my mums. I also saw them at Centre Plex here in Baton Rouge couple of years ago. The bands looking a bit old now but still pulls in the crowds. Lol

Ha ha, I did wonder when I posted it whether any other current BMers were on that coach. I also seem to remember we had to leave one lad behind as he hadn't arrived back when the coppers ordered us to move off.

Also remember police stood on the front of the coach as we set of thinking we,ll be ok then next thing bang goes all the windows , so much for the boys in blue

Went in 1977,got beat 1-0 a Bryan Robson goal IIRC.Same day as the league cup final at Wembley, loads of Everton fans going down on motorway. .
That was my first visit to West Ham. I think they missed a penalty, and they missed another when we lost 4-1 on my next visit. That must have been in the 80s as Alex Williams saved it.
Next visit was another 4-1 defeat under Royle in 2000-01 and then the 0-0 FA Cup game when we should have had a penalty or two.
I think we lost 1-0 on my next visit, and my last visit was seeing SWP score a header in a 1-1 draw on the last day of the 2009-10 season. That was the only time I've got away from the ground without traffic problems as the locals stayed inside to give their players a round of applause.
