West Ham (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

You keep pushing that line about people’s work, but do you go to work and have 60,000 cheering for you? When you do something right does your boss get multiple people to stand up and start singing a song with your name in?

Comparing footballers to regular working folk is silly imo.

However, I do agree with not giving your own players abuse at the game. Rags did it the other night with that Zirkzee character and it was embarrassing.
Fine let’s agree to disagree ! the bloke is at work performing his job ( he’s not a City fan )what work entails is therefore a matter of opinion
But getting abused like that by a fan is totally wrong !
If you think it’s correct fine you come from a different part / time of the world than I do
Vile disgusting behaviour in my opinion
Let’s change it up ! -
Your wife daughter son gets called a **** by a random in the street or at their work ( like it or not that’s where he is ) how would you feel ?
If you can’t control yourself and your behaviour don’t go to the game - simple

I agree with your point. I said that at the end of my post.

Behave how would you like to be called a **** at work ? and how do you think that is appropriate with ladies and kids present ?
Do you expect to be called a **** at work ?
Vile word and that is from a supposed fan - really !
As I have said previously, I do not use that word and I'm amazed how often it is used on this forum though I struggle to see how using this 'vile' word on here is any different to saying it at a match.
That said, football is about passion, in perhaps a moment of anger a fan jumps up from his seat and swears at a player/referee/fan. It happens at every match in every league. A lot of our songs contain swear words, are the fans wrong to sing them ?
Is it just certain words that are bad ? If so who decides.
Should the fans be banned for singing them ?
Thanks to the dippers we are already sanitising football, Bluemoon seems to be taking it to another level.

First home game I've missed all season, but I managed to watch that totally weird First Half before my plane landed in Dubai
It was 4-0 before I boarded the connecting flight but now in Sydney I'm having one of those "what the fuck was that?" moments.

Even without West Ham's early missed opportunities that was never a foul on Akanji
However Savinho has obviously gone up a gear and finally we've got somebody who can find Haaland
De Bruyne is an obvious concern especially when the opposition have got the ball, but at least we're scoring goals again

However the biggest recurring issue is our lack of pace. Earlier I'd watched the Tottenham-Newcastle game and both teams were lightning fast.
We desperately need a couple of new signings because otherwise I can't see us qualifying for next year's CL.
Anyway up the blues and see you all in Paris

Great to bag a back-to-back win! Hopefully it's something to build on now and push for the top 4. Savinho was magnificent and he's going to be some player. Great feet, fast and direct. The cross for Haaland was superb and I also thought Haaland had a good around game to go with his goals.

I thought we were lucky at times, particularly with that Akanji clanger, and if Bowen had been playing it might've been a closer game with the chances they had. I thought Ortega had a good game and I honestly think he's a better keeper than Ederson.

It does amazing me how far West Ham have come. You look at Kudus, Bowen, Paqueta, Summerville and they have some decent players. However, since Moyes left they've lost the plot. It staggers me how many teams are quick to shove managers who've done a great job for them.

I thought our pressing game was notably better in the first half, bringing a lot more energy and directness. It's great to see improvements, but the defensive lapses are a real concern. Savinho’s defensive awareness does need to step up, especially with Gvardiol needing that support. If both wide players don’t track back, it leaves the center-backs exposed, which was evident in the match.

Foden’s efforts with Rico on the other side were ok in the first half, but it’s clear there’s a vulnerability.

It's a mixed bag, while the attacking play has shown improvement, the defensive issues are glaring and will be costly against sharper opponents.

Kovacic's positional discipline is crucial, and when he's pulled out of position, it exposes significant gaps for counter-attacks. The midfield's ability to cover and shift positions dynamically is vital in maintaining balance, especially against teams that capitalise on quick breaks. That's how we played up until Rodri's injury.

We need to make sure someone is always ready to fill in those gaps when Kovacic moves out of position.
