West Ham (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

We were a bit poor in the first half except for two moments of brilliance by Savinho.
Good job West Ham's two best marksmen were injured or we could have been in trouble.

The Boys in Blue didn't give in. They fought to the end. Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans. You did us proud, you showed 'em, you showed 'em all. The nay sayers will probably berate me and say we didn't play well. I am not sure as I wasn't there or watching and I definitely don't look often at the match day thread.
It is always so negative.
We won.... that is the top and bottom of it. We showed 'em.
Especially the know nowt media clackbox buffoons.
Especially the Specsavers needing, whistle blowers calling themselves officials. The grumbletonian poltroons who once again need reminding that we are MANCHESTER CITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD!!

Onwards and upwards with the Blue Boys. YYYYeeeessss......... :-)

All I need to make my January completely good is to hear that John Boy is recovering..... anyone got any news on that score? :-)
Omg Eccles I love your posts! It's a breath of fresh air and positivity. A wins a win at the moment. I'm in agreement about the match day forum so I don't go on it anymore. I'll probably get piled on for being a happy clapper but I don't care. Forever the optimist. CTWD

Fucking hell! Can’t you seen anything positive? We won 4-1. When Ake was on the pitch he had 100% pass accuracy. Piss poor, do you expect 200%? Walker is our weak link, he no longer has the pace. But if we can get a decent right back and someone who can play long-term alongside Rodri, and get Dias fit again, we’ll be fine for the top 4
It was piss poor. A decent team would have beat us today, a shit west ham got behind us repeatedly and had 17 shots

Glazed over the lack of a DM and I'm losing confidence in management whoever is to blame something is wrong
Pep will play his established players. The last 15-20 mins was not great game management but those mature players are still on his side. In fact Gundogan and Walker improved in the last 6-7 minutes as we regained possession. Managing certain people is a balancing act

Starting to see some improvements in Haaland all-round game. He was phenomenal today. Savinho also brilliant.

Much better from the majority of the team.

Still some lapses in concentration and poor passes. But we played some lovely stuff at times.

Savinho playing like he did last season amazing what confidence can do, going to be one the best in the world in the future. Haaland scoring again. Only problem is the midfield West Ham cut through it. Desperately need midfield reinforcements this January.

There were plenty of times in that terrible run, where we actually played better than in the last two games. Anyone who thinks we have turned a corner, is likely to get a major shock in the coming weeks.

True, we actually managed some really decent performances in the opening 30 minutes of some matches and then collapsed later on. Currently there is just nothing good to take from our performance, we create next to nothing and concede chances for fun, oh and our set pieces are truly horrific.

I really fear what Brentford might do to us, they are essentially a better Spurs who already hammered us.

A decent performance for an upper mid table team, but no where near our recent highs. Better teams would beat us comfortably. But if we can have a run of games where are front line look potent then we'll always have a chance.

Great 3pts and some superb goals . Going forward we look sharp again BUT our midfield is a fucking shambles. We need legs and energy in there to stifle the turnovers and keep possession. It’s difficult we desperately need to buy someone to help Kovacic and Gundogan.

Once again big Erling holding the ball up well and two very nice goals from him. A few half hearted challenges in the first half got us in a little trouble and generally speaking players were popping the ball off pretty quick rather than taking a hundred touches. Another week and another couple of successful throw ins where we didn't immediately give the ball away.
Haalands all round play was very good. Finishing was top notch too.
